I very rarely go to the doctor-i put my kids and husband first-this time my husband made me go. I have been getting dizzy for the past 2-3 weeks but not the kind where you feel your going to faint.Just a head spin now and then, even when turning in bed! I told my doctor and he said i have too much fluid in my brain so i am now on medication but he really worried me when he said that if my symptoms get worse,i will need a CT scan as the only other thing he can think of would be a tumour-particularly when i said that i also feel pressure behind my left eye! My doctor also said i need to be under less stress..mmm yep that's much easier now that i either have too much fluid in my brain OR i have a tumour!!! Sorry for the novel..for those of you who have read this far, thankyou.I just had to get this out of my system.

As another myLotter said, that is vertigo. I have suffered from it for ages and it has nothing to do with the brain. It sounds like you have benign paroxysmal positional vertigo which is when the crystals in the ears get a little screwy and cause quick spins, often in bed when you turn over. Obviously I am no doctor but it doesn't sound like your doctor has any way of knowing you have extra fluid on the brain (which has much, much worse side effects) by just talking to you. A CAT scan will rule that out but won't show the ear problem. You need to go to a good ear specialist who can easily test for this and give you exercises to do to get rid of the problem. It is not life threatening nor even dangerous. It is just annoying and scary. Again, I am not a doctor but I have had the same symptoms MANY times and they come and go. I have had CAT cans, MRIs and more and the conclusions is that my ears are messing me up. A neurologist could better be able to test you for any sort of brain issue. Stress is no fun but rarely affects the spins IF it is the ears. Lord, telling you that you may have a tumor without testing you thoroughly is just....unbelievable! Please pursue the ear issue and/or see a neurologist who can rule out brain issues. You are probably on a diuretic to get rid of fluid and it could help the ears if you have some fluid in the ears (That can make you dizzy too) and the pressure may be sinuses so the meds may help. I am so sorry you were frightened like that but, in my humble opinion, the chance that you have fluid on the brain is very low. My mother had it when she was ill and it presents completely differently than this. Again, please see a specialist as I am not one and would never want to give anyone medical advice that was wrong. A little about BPV: http://www.tchain.com/otoneurology/disorders/bppv/bppv.html Good luck!

You might want to remove a couple of items from your diet. There are two substances that will make dizziness (vertigo) worse: caffeine and the glutamate (that is found in MSG and a lot of other foods). Here is a link that shows where glutamate can be found - http://www.truthinlabeling.org/hiddensources.html so you can reduce or get rid of it. Your vertigo could be caused by many things (including stress); but, if you have a lot of caffeine and glutamate in your diet, it just makes the vertigo worse. If it is stress related, the worse it gets the more you stress and the vertigo gets even worse. So, you may just need to do something to break the cycle. Changing your diet could help; if the vertigo is less, you would worry less and have less vertigo. You can also try self hypnosis and there are some inexpensive CDs with stress reduction techniques - self hypnosis, biofeedback, chackra balancing, etc. These might also help. Stress, caffeine, and glutamates can all change the body's and brain's blood flow and cause many different types of problems. I would try these before getting a CT scan or any possible surgery. Hope the info helps.
