A friend of mine travelled to North Carolina and back which worked out to be 3800km. We went down there to visit my fiance as he had just come back from Iraq and that was the first time that we physically set eyes and hands on each other. It was the most beautiful thing. My friend took pics of our first meet. We knew eachother 6 years but never had the chance to meet in person. He is the best thing that could have ever happened to me and it was as if we've known eachother all our lives. The ride down was beautiful! I'd do it again in a heartbeat! I'd like to take a little time out to visit the places that we drove through though as we travelled 17 hours our first night and got lost for 2 and a half hours so we pulled over and took a room and then set out the next morning.

Thanks, gene_jean9, I can't wait to get married and we are planning to have some kids too as he doesn't have any. He'll be coming up here from North Carolina in the middle of October and it'll be the first time that he gets this far north in Ontario and he's looking forward to it. He's not too sure about the winters up here though, lol.

When I was a kid I used to travel with my mother and I like it so much...There I met a lot of people and friends. Rich and poor and I saw different place in our country.
But now I don't cause it's too expensive traveling around the country.

Americans really like to travel long distances when they go on holiday. When I was growing up we would drive 8 hours a day to get across the country. Now that I am older, however, I prefer to travel less and really see the place in more depth, instead of just making good time.
I guess the farthest I have gone is from Chicago to Athens, Greece. Not sure of the milage on that flight? I loved Greece and would like to visit Turkey too. Of course, there are so many wonderful places in the world...I couldn't list all of the countries I'd like to visit. China would definitely be high on my list (I'd like to see the Great Wall) and so would Egypt (to see the Pyramids). How about you? Where would you like to go?

I traveled to Colombia and traveled about 20 miles along the Caribbean coastline earlier this year. Last year I traveled to Vancouver and popped over to Vancouver Island. I came back to the mainland by ferry to Powell River. There was an amazing bus trip including two ferries back to Vancouver. When I was 20 to 21 years old I flew around the world and my journey was around 31,000 miles in total by air. I have enjoyed traveling in more than fifty different countries in the world so far in my lifetime.

In April I travelled 3600 to 3800 kilometers to go and see my fiance and I had a great time. My best friend and I did our first long road trip together and we had a blast. We went from Sudbury, Ontario to Fort Bragg, North Carolina. We use to only travel at the most 4 hours away from home. That was the best trip I've done so far and I am looking forward to doing many more. Our next trip will be to Kentucky and then Montana. We both love to drive and plan to take in more sites the net trip as we were in a rush to get down to see him so we didn't get to take in too much. The roads are beautiful and so are the sites. We even got lost and ended up taking a shortcut on the 250 according to the map. What an interesting road to do in the middle of the night. That's a story in itself and I'd love to see it in the day time.
