Mylots biggest flaw

The encouragement of spam and superficial discussions. The moneygrind so far makes all discussions very vague and superficial, people don't want to go in-depth with discussions because that would mean sacrificing time and posts, ergo money. I hope this drawback will heal over time when members start to get bored. Anyone starting to feel the same ?

I feel the turnover of topics is too fast. You never really get a chance to establish real opinions. Also, I haven't had the chance to recognise names here, do you actually get to know individuals here or is it just a whole big bunch of opinions??

If you're active you will get to know one another, I can understand the casual user feeling isolated.

This is how i feel aswell... It's just a drawback with all the encouraged spam so far. But i guess i should get better at searching for the topics i really want to participate in-depth in.

I have been a mamber for almost 2 months now. Lately it seems a lot more people are here just to get the cash. Don't get me wrong the cash is great it is a very good benifit of cahtting on the site. However I agree that due to this the quality of respnses have defintly slowed down. That is what the site is good for. I love hearing other people resonses.. and sorry I don't know or I don't want to comment on this now are not benifical in anyway and that is why when people post these type of responses I give them a negative rating. This will bring the amount of money they make down and they will eventualy stop posting I would assume. I on occasion will give a yes or no answer if the question calls for it... However If my question is "what is you favorite color?" and someone write no that is so stupid. It would have taken you just as long to write red. So Yes some of this sites topics and responses have gone downhill in my personal opian but like I said I am sure when these people do not make as much as they would like the will leave. Oh and also I hate topics that say how much money they have made.. gets on my nerves Or no one responds to my discussions.. so what? I do not get many responses at times and I just make more or just respond to others.. Hope this was not to filled with typos I type fast when I am annoyed..

oh and also when I post topics I try to strive for the best reponse of course it is all a matter of opian but I try to give the best response I can. I think that is what should be everyones goal but we are all differnt.

Every month there will always be a rush of new users who’ll see MyLot as a money making machine, they’ll expect big returns for little work, the previous months signs up will have faded out by then realising that MyLot “sucks” and is really terrible. If you look hard enough and search by an interest you’ll find topics to entertain you mentally beyond “What is your favourite colour”

The chance of it fading out would be a fine thing. What I find really annoying is when you’ve created a topic away from the normal ‘easy to answer’ questions and you get a swarm of people using it merely to get money rather than even attempting to approach the topic. One-track mind; they’ll get bored soon enough, while we will sludge on and enjoy Mylot and in the end earn more! Well.. We can hope. I switched from Yahoo Answers, I see MyLot as nothing different, I could post one-word answers to everything and not bother with what anyone else says but I’d end up killing myself in boredom!

Indeed! I hope it will fade slowly, because i can't be arsed to grind money. I just want a cool discussion forum i can use for years and then get a small bonus ontop.

thats the problem when money is behind it... a real community with no cash can go into the depth, but mylot will never

Well never say never! I think if the mylot crew worked on getting a better overview on discussions than the current "tags" system, the spam wouldn't seem so overwhelming and just die out quick. I just don't understand why anyone would start a forum where people are encouraged to spam like this and even pay them for the spam. I sense a more anti-spam payment system would be required if mylot really wants to grow big. Time will tell.

I agree that a lot of the discussions are just "fluff". While I enjoy responding to fun or entertaining posts once in a while, I do like reading and writing with a little more depth. Somtimes I can get the ball rolling, so to speak, with something a little vague and the stear the discussion towards a more relevant or serious topic, but it seems that people only wish to make one or two sentence comments at the most, and sometimes they don't even make sense. I don't care what someone's opinion is, as long as they can justify it. Many people don't seem to want to take them time. There seem to be two categories of people here: the thinkers/philosophers and education/information seekers, and the time wasters/bored/looking for easy money with little work people. I'd like to think that I'm part of the former, for the most part.

There are pearls among the spam, but i fear those pearls will repeat themselves quite a few times. Although i'm not sure i agree on the "easy money - little work" part. To sit here and spam along all day for this small amount of cash ?!? Not very profitable if you think of how boring that must be eh ;)
