Well,I wont bcoz I dont like it.Yes,it is unhygienic.Though in your country it is a tradition but it is very unhealthy.

Hello Wonderful1! I didn't hear about such tradition before. I think its unhealthy to eat with strangers in a common dish. Yes, your fear is right till some extent that it may cause infection (diseases). So, its better to avoid it if you aren't feeling comfortable eating with strangers in a common dish...vani^_^

It all depends, you know... As long as they didn't use their hand for take the food i wouldn't have prolem with it, I guess... but I have never been in such situation so I can't tell for sure.

I too hate eating with strangers .It disturbs my mind and spoils the mood of eating.Its also not hygienic so I avoid eating with others mostly

I come from China too.I hate to have dinner with strangers also .Besides the reason you have mentioned I find I don't know how to communicate with strangers when we will have dinner together.So when my parents want to take me to dinners outside with some people who mean strangers to me, I'll upset.
