What fruit would you be?

Ever gone for a job interview where they ask such questions? As in, if u were a fruit, what fruit would u be and why? What fruit would u be? Why? What is the main aim behind such questions?

These type of question some times you think useless but when you say the type of fruit , they will ask why u like the frut and when the fruit come to the markets, which country the fruit is grown, which botanical family the fruit belong so on so forth. so some times there will be meaning behind these questions.

No, it is not useless, it's asked with a purpose of gauging your critical thinking. Why you chose a partiular fruit, what do you know about it? Such stuff. Thanks for the response.

Other then trying to determine your preference for fruit; perhaps you type of fruit you would be would reveal if you would be stronger or softer in character.
