When I was a kid, I was really a wrestling fanatic. One of my favorites are Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Sean Michaels to name a few. I thought what they were doing were true.
But now, I realized it was all fake and scripted. I wonder why they don't get much blood when they are banging their heads on the ring and etc.
It's all for the show but it was really good.
I think the real thing is the UFC.

I really would hope that no kids are "taught to fight" like anyone when watching wrestling. It is entertainment and any parent should let their kids know that from the start.
I work in wrestling and if you think what they do is "fight like girls" I know a ring and a few wrestlers who would love to prove you wrong. I am not really being defensive but having worked in WCW for 7 years and now freelancing for the promotions, I have seen it all. Wrestling isn't fake. It is predetermined. It is much harder NOT to hurt someone and make look like you did than to just slam someone and hurt them.
OK, I just wanted to say that mostly, I really hope wrestling isn't teaching kids to fight. That isn't the intent and parents need to stress that so there are no fatalities or serious injured with kids mimicking wrestling moves.

It's 100% fake because many immobilizations that are used anyone with a little knowledge can easily get out

I beg to differ.
It's not fake, but "staged" of "scripted", and the real WWE fans know that and still love it.
The results and storylines are predetermined, and actually if you thought that all the wrestlers are enemies then that would be pretty dumb, I mean think about it, these guys travel around all over the country together, they would be like best friends. But what they do in the ring is real. Patty is right, it is so hard to do moves and make it look like you're really hurting someone, when actually you're trying not to hurt them in the process.
Not to mention, these guys are real athletes, what they do in the ring is not something that just about anyone can do.
And to tell you the truth, how many professions do you know, where people actually earn their keep with their actual sweat and blood.
I really respect all wrestlers, and what they do, their characters and their gimmicks are for our entertainment, but they do get injured for real, as we all know, I'm sure they do hurt too.
So if you say fake, I'm gonna say no, it's staged, it's scripted, it's predetermined. It still requires numerous amounts of skill and training to do what they do. They don't claim to be real, any real wrestling fan knows that this is "sports entertainment", but as they say "yes, this is entertainment, but the hazards are real".

I used to be a big wrestling fanatic. Yes for the most part it is fake, but they are subject to severe injury due to it being a physical sport entertainment. It is like a soap opera though! hahha! I think as we get older, we lose interest though. I know for myself I don't even really watch it anymore.
