It affects the user who posted the discussion/response, not the discussion or the response itself. More positive ratings means you get a star with a higher number beside your name (after you reach at least a hundred posts). The purpose of the rating is to let you how popular a user is on the site.

If other people rated your responses/discussions, you will get a good reputation in Mylot. That's the star beside the name. Move your cursor to the star and you will see 98/100. That's a star with 10. The lowest star is 1 and the highest start is 10. The highest you star is, the better your reputataions and it will help you earn more money. In order to get your star, you not only have to ve rated by people.You must at least reach 100 posts or more like that.Wish you get your star soon.
