Could You Live In a House Like This?

Could you live in a house where you knew numerous ppl or a whole family had been murdered? Could you feel safe, peaceful and content knowing what had happened? I don't think I could. I wouldn't be worried so much about ghosties but more I just don't think I could live there without having the thought of what had happened in the back of my mind. Kind of like a shadow over the house. I know ppl die in houses all the time but so far, as far as I know, I've never lived in a house where someone died. I asked this question a few weeks ago. Not the exact question worded like yours but very similar, as in... I asked if you could live in a house where people had been murdered and/or it was haunted. If you look at "discussion I've started" it's called "would you move in". My answer to my own discussion was that I wouldn't...because I have stayed in a house where people were murdered and it was haunted, it was the freakiest thing ever. it was a girl scout retreat that I had been on at the time. Ghosts and stuff completely freak me out and I'd certainly find out the history of my house before i moved in.

LOL I guess great minds think alike...I've had ppl say they were just about to start a topic and then saw one just like it that I'd just started...LOL Wow, I've never stayed in a haunted house though my aunt claims the house they lived in years ago in Texas was haunted. I've slept there though and never felt or saw anything. AT PEACE WITHIN ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Yeah. Well I live in Maryland and we have a lot of Haunted history here. This particular house was a mansion in which, if I remember correctly, the husband had killed his wife in the attic and then hung himself in the front entryway. I believe there was some other killings or something involved. There were a lot of strange noises and sure the place was filled with girl scouts but these were other noises. There were cold spots... where you were Freezing and then it would disappear. it was really interesting and yet freaky at the same time.

Pretty much every house I have lived in has been haunted, from the time I was little up to the present. Either the house or the land. I have no problem with it, you just learn to deal with or accept the things that are going on around you. Trust me you do learn to deal, that is if you stick around long enough to. Physical violence is another story, I would not stick around and get used to that, but thank G that hasn't happened to me so far. I can feel things that some other people can, not too many anymore will admit to it, thanks Salem... LOL Anyway thanks for the topic and hope this answers your question.

I'm not sure I could live where people were violently murdered. That's the Amityville house isn't it?

I don't think that I would ever really feel comfortable living somewhere I knew someone was killed. It would always feel creepy to me and I really don't think I could ever go in the room where it happened. What if someone was killed i n the master bedroom? Could you really get a good nights sleep or would every sound wake you up? Maybe after a really long time the house would become your own and you would feel more comfortable there, but how long are you willing to wait before feeling at home in your own house? Way to creepy!

I think I have always had a bit of thing about this sort of thing, I have moved into three places of my own and they have all been new places and I must be honest when I was looking for my places I always avoided deceased estates so I think I have a deep fear maybe.

Yes actually, I wouldn't mind it so much. Of course, I would think about the murder victims everyday but that wouldn't stop me from renting/buying it. I would love to buy the amytiville horror house. Not because there is a history there of murder but for the style and location. Mary

There is no way that I would live in a house where I knew that people had been killed as I am sure it would be haunted! I think that people need to fill safe in their own home.

Never! There is a beautiful house in our town where the whole family was murdered. When it went up for sale, many people went threw it out of curiosity. I couldn't even do that! A friend of mine went threw and said that they had one room where all the walls were red. The rumor is that this is where the murders were and they painted it red because they couldn't get anything else to cover it up. It is way too creepy to me.

I have lived in a haunted house, it is not the most comfortable of environments. My room was upstairs in what used to be a two room apartment of sorts, it was a very old home with glass doorknobs and chandeliers. I loved the house, but it was very creepy and at night, I could hear things upstairs when I was laying in bed. My father and his family lived in a house that was very haunted and everyone in the house had something happen to them. My dad would sleep in an upstairs bedroom which used to be the attic and when he would start to fall asleep an old man would come out of the closet and start to choke him. He said he wouldn't be able to breathe and it literally felt like someone was choking him, he could see him and everything! He said he wouldn't sleep in that house again. They eventually sold the house. But now, I would never stay in a house that is haunted or that I know people have been murdered. Too creepy!

I myself am a person of "belief" and I try to make sense to what is true or false. I do believe however that it is completely normal but who really wants to live in a house were numeruos deaths have occurred??? I don't think no one will feel comfortable, to say the least. Also, I think it depends what kind of spiritual person you are and how you perceive the situation. Some people are not afraid at all and some get afraid with a little thing. Do I believe in ghosts??? Well for one, I have never seen one but I guess it's probable

I think about that sometimes and I don't think i could either. It would be a bit hard to change things if you were living there before you found out however. I think I've probably seen too many movies...lol. Why do we always think the worst I wonder? It's quite possible a house or home could be occupied by a happy and good spirit as well as by a troubled or evil one, isn't it?

I couldn't live in a house where someone has been murdered. No way!! I would always be thinking of the great saddness and of ghost too. I think your mind would play tricks on you even if it was not haunted.
