Ugh!!
$121.16....thats my cable bill every month....all I want to do is watch ONE fricking channel and it doesnt work, hasnt all week long!
Is it too much to ask that one channel out of 120 of them appears on my tv with NO static???
Not too mention that I have been arguing with them for the past 3 months about late fees. It clearly states at the bottom of my bill that "a $5.00 late fee will be assessed on all amounts 37 days past due". I know I dont pay it exactly ontime each and every month but I am NOT 37 FRICKING DAYS PAST DUE!!!!! I have the receipts to prove it and they still refuse to remove or credit me the charges.
Each time you call in and make an adjustment to your account, wether it be adding something or removing something they charge you $1.99. I used to work for Time Warner cable and the reason for this charge is that some people would call in and add channels just to watch one movie or something, then call back and have it removed, therefore watching the movie or channel for free! I can understand this, but why do you charge people that ARENT doing this the frickin fee??
Each month I have to sit down take time out of my day, (and my time is valuable) and call them. The bill they send me is NOT the bill that the CR is seeing and therefore telling me that Im wrong! How can I be wrong?? Im merely reading the bill that YOU sent me??? Then the charges in BOLD LETTERING does not add up to the amount due on the bill. This is insane.....
*shuffling the papers on my desk* Where is the number to call Direct TV?????

I have Comcast as well and I think it is a rip off. I mainly have it so my boyfriend can watch his espn and sports. I mainly watch Fox and channels I get just fine with an antenna. I also have my internet through Comcast and I swear it sucks. I had to call them about 3 times and wait 20 minutes just to get someone on the line to help me when my connection kept going out. they pretty much suck in my eyes

lol, the court shows are my favorites too. I love People's Court, Maria Lopez, and Judge Mathis mainly. Yes our bill just for basic cable with no movie channels and the the internet runs us a little over $100 a month somehow even though when we signed up I was told it would be about $70. I don't understand it. Comcast is the only cable company available in the area where I live.

Hi Ranitam!
Yes that is why my hubby wants to keep it for now, its Football season and God-forbid he misses it. Since he is usually gone racing on the weekends I have to record all the games. He's lucky I like football to an extent! lol
Now I dont have a problem with my internet. They just took that over, we used to have a seperate provider for that, but now its all on one bill. So thats ontop of the $121 we pay for cable tv.
Fox was the channel I couldnt get all week! lol I am addicted to the court shows, and thats the only channel that shows them in the morning time. And thats what I was thinking, I could get this without cable, why with cable I cant get the damn channel clearly?? lol Oh boy.
Thank you for your comment!

Peoples court is my fave, and I like to watch Divorce Court, I think they moved that to another time or another station lol not sure which. I like Judge Alex, my hubbys name hehe, but I dont really care for Judge Joe Brown...for some reason I cant stop watching it though! It seems like he gets all high and mighty and really doesnt listen to the case and goes off in another direction with it sometimes ruling for the more guilty party. He talks in other voices and accents lol its really annoying. But still I watch!

AMEN to everything you said about comcast- I can attest to everything you have been going through with them and more!!! I just got off the phone with them- trying to explain to them that only one of my phone lines is working and one of my DVR's isn't recieving all the freakin channels I pay way too much for as it is.
The call started by having me on hold for over 30 minutes claiming to have a high call volume and call wait times were unuallually long- unusually long????....EVERYTIME I call them I have to wait that long- and I have been a customer with them for a decade now! Then I get some chick named Alicia on the phone that sounds like she got out of bed with an attitude and wants to act interrupted that she had to take my call. After all that she tells me- now I'll have to switch you to our technical side for help with the phone!!!! WHAT!!!! Do you people believe in cross-training. I used to work for the cable company years ago and still call the very office I used to work at to this day- I know for a fact there are only 10 desks with cust. serv. reps in there and only 7 are filled at a time- so because they want to save money on employment compensation - I have to pay over $100 dollars a month for my bill and get treated as if I'm stealing the dag gone cable!!!!! UGHHHH....thanks for letting me vent too :)

LOL You're very welcome darlin!
I'm slowly but surely working on getting them out of my household for good. I did get rid of the internet, all that is left is that TV with the DVR and the Cable box....which I just had to get a new DVR box because recording one show, if it would record, would say that it was 67% full....we all know that's BS. lol I have to reset the thing every 2 months or it will delete all my scheduled recordings or not record anything that I do have set to record. Oh and when I called to complain, the guy literally made it sound like it was fault of mine and not Comcasts!!! Kept saying that sounds like something on your end Ma'am. Im supplying the house, not the freakin cable, how is it in any way my fault??? He said we will send a Tech out, I said yeah at YOUR convenience, NOT MINE. Now if you want to send one out after 5:30 when I'm finished working, then fine....but of course they can't do that.
I got Verizon's DSL and I cannot tell any difference in my Internet service, plus its $20 cheaper than Comcast. If Verizon offered FIOS in my area, I would have it. I know people that have it and they love it.
If I was the only one in the house, I would cut the TV off in a heartbeat. God forbid we can't get ESPN without a cable box lol

I hear ya and believe me, we have similar problems with comcast. No one has a clue there. About a month ago at around 10:30 in the morning two guys showed up from comcast for a service call...that we had not arranged, I even had to call my husband to make sure he hadn't called them. Right now we are having new problems with our DVR and it's making me nuts, we can't watch anything that we've recorded, we can't rewind or pause shows, everything freezes or goes to a blank screen and we have to turn off the box then turn it back on. My husband will be putting in a call to them tonight, maybe we'll get this figured out by Christmas! I sure wish they had some good competition around here. I've told my husband that I don't want a dish on my house, so that's out of the question for now. Guess I'll just to have wait this out.

Hiya Peach,
Yes I know just what you mean I have to literally unplug my DVR on a regular basis. Shows that I really do want to see and have set up to record, dont. The service guy came yesterday and was telling me that in a few weeks they are going to be changing their channel line up and it will throw the DVR off and you will have to reset all the scheduled recordings. He also told me that if I had any recordings that I was wanting to keep, I should get a VCR and record them because they will be erased. UGH! Luckily I dont have anything that I absolutely want to keep. lol
Thats what Im thinking, Ill just have to deal with it. The husband doesnt want to get rid of it, for crying out loud its FOOTBALL SEASON!!! LOL He pays for it, so its his money! I have to listen to him on this one. haha
Thanks for replying. Good to know Im not the only one with complaints!

We had direct tv and didn't like it. We're with dish network and are really happy with them. I can't imagine having that kind of service in which they don't know their butts from a hole in the ground. My parents got direct tv even after I told them not to get it for they won't like it but my brother has it and likes it so my parents got it because it has the Nashville channel. Whoopi doooo! Oh well, they'll have to learn for themselves.

Hi CatsandDogs,
It could be the Dish Network Im thinking of and not Direct TV. One of them has the Harness Racing channel and my husband would really like to have that. Before we moved intogether the place he was renting had Direct TV and he didnt seem to have any problems with it, but who knows! Nothing is for sure in this world we live in! haha
Thanks for your input, Im going to look into the Dish Network and see what they have to offer. As long as we can get Football for the season my husband will remain happy! lol
Thanks for your comment.

Yes, I'm with Comcast. I haven't had too many service problems but their customer service is a complete joke. I'm counting the days until Verizon FiOS is available around here. And forget about getting them to waive fees. I had to remind them once that I used to work in a call center and I know what the overhead for a single phone call is for the company (anywhere from $10-20 to field each and every phone call) and that I would be calling every day until they removed a $3 charge from my bill. I asked them how may calls at $10 a pop they were willing to pay for in the interest of not refunding my lousy $3. I got my money back. After six phone calls. $60 they spent MINIMUM to hang onto that $3. Morons...

Your not kidding when you said that their CS is a JOKE!!!
I had to call in last Friday and they screwed up the last four digits of my social, and you need to verify that in order for them to access your account. When I told that silly b!tch that she was like "nope, thats not it". Im like look lady, Im alreayd pissed off and I think I KNOW my fricking SS#!! She wouldnt let me speak, she asked me if I she could put me on hold and I told her no and she did it anyway. Then when she came back on I said, didnt you hear me? She said no ma'am what did you say? I said NO YOU CANNOT PUT ME ON HOLD....oh well no I didnt hear you say that. I said of course not! Why would you??
Moron is the polite term.......
Thanks for replying Goinlive. Have a good day!

Aww man I glad I'm not the only one, OK maybe thats mean sorry for you trouble.LOL
Comcast is horrible, my bill is like 200.00 bucks every month. And I pay the extra for the insurance, then they came out cause I was having problems and after FOUR VISITS!! The proceeded to tell me that they can't fix the problem cause it's on the second floor!! Whats that, I'm like whats the sense on having the isurance then, I could have fixed the problem if it was on the first floor!!!

Hi Rachsal,
lol No its ok! Im happy to hear Im not the only one as well. GaPeach isnt happy with them either!
I thought I was paying too much for my cable service! $200???? Wow. I dont think I would give them the pleasure. Ours was around $150 before I took off the HBO. They just showed the same movies from 1980 over and over again. Nothing really up to date or anything. I missed it at first and would go to the channel line up and then realise, Oh I dont have that anymore lol but Im not missing it now.
When I called them yesterday about the channel not coming in all week, the CR that I got was really nice and gave me credit for the week, and said he made sure that no service charge would be added to my bill for a guy coming out. I wouldnt have let that happen anyway! lol
Good luck with your service. I would be asking for some credits. Seems like it shouldnt make any difference what floor your on!
Thanks for the reply.

Comcast just recently bought out Insight, our previous cable service and I must say that I am not impressed with them at all. The internet has given me problems all day today and my cable box isn't working either.
The customer service is a joke and I hope that they will get better, but from the sounds here,it won't . I think that I will see who else I can go to here and change now.
The bills are ridiculous! I pay for internet and basic cable and I pay almost $100.00. I just watched a commercial that says that they offer a double play package that includes internet and phone for $49.99- that is less than my internet with them.

Here is one for you. I have been with Comcast for two years. The video services is for the most part ok. The internet on the other had was going down every other day. It got to the point where I had a service tech here once a week. I then moved my internet to the biz department and I have not really had the many problems with the internet. Of course I pay like $5.00 per month more. Then about 9 months ago my the tv started acting up. After a superviser came out to check the services, I was told that the box had to be replaced, but he did not have one on the truck. Our area was another cable company until about two years ago and when it changed over the office was moved from about 7 miles away to about 21 miles away from my home. I am also disabled and am not allowed to drive. Well about 2 months later the box went all the way out. Each time we recorded a program or hit pause on the dvr it would destort. Well the service tech came out he stated to me that if he replaced the box, Comcast would charge me a fee. I told him that, would be something that American's with disiably would love to here. He did not want to hear that so the replaced the box and I was not charged. Well about a week later the replace box started to unautherise it's self. After 4 times the CS told me if it happens again request a service call. I told her that I am not paying $149 per month to restart the box once a day. Well they came out and replaced with another box. Knock on wood, this box has been working ok. I think that comcast clients should get together and boycot comcast. If everyone would not pay a bill for one month it would send a message to comcast that we are not going to take it any more. What do you think?

We have comcast and i absolutely hate them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I call them ALL the time with problems. It is usually just the internet but there are times when it is cable also! I can not stand them. As soon as verizon is in our area we are getting rid of comcast. They are the worst. My sister had verizon and she loved it. She moved to a place where verizon isn't there and she had to go with comcast. She called verizon and they said in her area they are putting towers there and all but it wont be available for a little bit of time. Verizon should hurry up and get those towers up all over the place. I am sure they will have a lot of customers leaving comcast for them.
