You couldn't find a special ed teacher job? That is suprising, as I know where I live they are in really high demand. I didn't have trouble finding a job after I graduated. I majored in Animal Behavior, I found the addresses for every doggie day care, vet office, kennel, and horse stable I could find, and send my resume to all of them. I sent probably 40-50 resumes. Within a month, I had had 6 job calls, 3 being full time (which I needed). I interviewed with them all in one week, accepted one of the offers the next week, began working the week after that. I am currently a comfort care attendant (glorified kennel tech) at a vet hospital where I care for the hospital patients, recover patients from surgery, and help restrain animals when they are getting shots/procedures done. It doesn't pay superwell (11 an hour), but it has benefits, and pays the bills decently. For a first job, I'm not unhappy.

I'm glad that worked out for you! I work at Starbucks and make a decent wage, have benefits, profit sharing, stock options and all that. It's just that I can't find a job that calls for my particular skill set. I've never had this problem before either.

When I graduated from college, it was like after 911 and the economy was really bad. I was lucky to get a job but what I studied was nothing really special and I could get into whatever field which didn't need special qualifications. But after 911 happened, I was laid off due to the worldwide fear and cutting budget for headcounts. Last in first out! It was frustrating but I kept trying and found another job. Don't give up. Just keep trying and sure there will be something for you.

I appreciate that! All I want is something to do for 8 hours a day that pays and has benefits. I really don't even care what it is at this point!

I graduated in Dec 2007 and I'm working for a company(bio-medical) which is in tune to the major i did in college. Well, job hunt was not easy and I thought of doing odd jobs instead of simply staying at home, but thankfully I came across this vacancy :)
