I think it probably depends on how the relationship is in the first place. If it is a really good and strong relationship, then I think that being apart won't necessarily hurt it, but if the relationship is sort of weak already, then a separation would probably make it worse. My husband is in the military, so we have really long separations (more than a year right now) from each other, and I've noticed that I actually feel like I am much closer to him and more in love with him now after so many months away from him than I was when we were together before he left! :) Of course I would prefer to be with him all the time, but I think that since we have a solid relationship, the separations actually make our relationship stronger.

Well in my case that really depends on how long the other person is gone. I have a lot of LDR before and when i dont see or talk to my guy for more that one week, i sort of lossing the feeling and starts to find someone else. SO make it a point that even if you are not together, you should still communicate.

well i think this depends on the personality of the person. some really feels that the absent of the partner makes him/her love their partner more. and is waiting patiently for him/her to come back. some people when the partner is away it makes them sad and heading to go out with another while the partner is away.
