My god-daughter has a new little brother, but I am not his godmother. I converted to Orthodoxy after she was born, and so I cannot be the godmother of the other child. Their parents are a little bit upset, because their (Methodist) pastor would have been comfortable with me as J's godmother, but my Church says otherwise. How would you explain this to the parents? What would you do for the children?
