Will we see the end of the Sci-Fi genre?

Over the years i have noticed a lack of originality in sci-fi movies and books and come to realize that the genre is dying. Now and then something does pop up with a hint of a spark but fades away to fast to make an impact. There could be two reasons for this: 1. all ideas were used and the novelty has worn off. 2. we are reaching a piont when science fiction has no longer the fiction. technology has progressed so much in a century that most fiction is now a reality. todays sci-fi will simply be tomorrow's action.

Science fiction will never cease to exist. Science fiction is the product of human mind looking into the future (or the past in another vision of things). As long as people will imagine things, the genre will go on. It doesn't matter that technology is turning what once was fiction into reality. There will always be some type of energy or some technology to imagine. There are so many unknown worlds we can only imagine... Science fiction will not die, my friend! It simply cannot!
