Yes, it was actually expected, because in the coming near future the series is going to be further tougher with tours to south africa, australia, etc and there as usual indians will not perform well and hence he will be removed at that time, so dravid did not want that situation to happen and hence he decided on this.

well there is no any political reason as i think. last few month dravid not performing his best form in matches, may be he is under pressure as a captain. so he decided to relife the extra tension and play his natural game. so its right decision as my think. and about captain, as my think yuvraj singh is the best player.

If, he has done this in order to concentrate in his game, then it is perfect...looks like this has taken a lot of consideration from his side...Though Dravid is a good player, his full talent is supressed when concentrating on the team..SO I feel it is a good decision..This will not have any impact on the perfomance of the team in the coming matches..Best replacement for DRavid would be Dhoni....

thats a good thing he has done. because he is not good in captaincy. a captain must be aggressive and he is not.

I think he did the best thing. He was not a good captain and he was also not playing well as a bastman when he was the captain ansd so if he think he cannot concentrate as a captain then it is better to quit for the job. As we have other options. He is not the only player who can be the skipper of the team.

Good riddance! As it is he was too meek and submissive as a captain and there was a joke going on that in the Indian cricket team there was ‘captaincy by committee’. I think he was already buckling under pressure and added to that was the fear factor of facing the mighty Aussies in their home ground. Then there is the added pressure of matching the last season’s performance by the Indian team under Sourav Ganguly. I think he took the right decision, only the timing is wrong. If he had resigned immediately after the debacle in the World Cup, he could have got a lot of respect instead of flak. And the BCCI too has shown firmness by accepting it, instead of its usual dilly-dally standpoint.
As to who should be the captain, no doubts about it…definitely Yuvraj Singh.
