Botox - What a difference!

This is so random. About four months ago, my sister was with me at our doctor's office (We go to the same guy). We were both in the room when he told us he was hiring a new doctor, a certified MD and also a certified anesthesiologist. This doctor just also completed a course in cosmetic fillers and Botox and would be doing that stuff in the office. I am 43, my sister is 39. The minute I heard that, I said, jokingly, "I'll be a guinea pig! I need it!" I really don't too much but I hate that vertical line between my brows from squinting. Long story short, the doctor said he would put my sister and I on the list. We left and forgot about it. Last week, the doctor's office called and said that they were ready top take my sister and I for Botox injections. They would be 100% free and we could tell the doctor what we wanted him to do (a little or a lot or whatever). He specializes or will specialize in natural looking faces not anything radical or fake looking like some celebs. They said that he is certified and all that but would like to work on three different people of various ages and my name was on the list so....... come on in! GULP! I didn't expect that. I went and met with him and he did say I didn't NEED the stuff but if I wanted to get rid of that line and see what Botox could do for me, he'd be glad to do it free of charge (once). He seemed very competent and he also practices medicine in the office. My sister and I made an appointment for next week. If we cancel, they will call the next people on the list so this is our one chance to experience this. Will I look younger? Will I look stunned like a deer in the headlights? I know all about it and I am not scared of it but I am not sure I want to do it because I might like it and then what? I can't afford that stuff on a regular basis. ANYWAY, ladies (and gentlemen) what would you do if presented with this opportunity? Would you say Heck NO or think of it as an adventure? It's not often you can get Botox for free! It wears off in a few months so it won't do anything permanent to me, which is why I don't fear it. I'd love to hear your take on this. And if I do it, I will put up before and after pics. Ha!

You don't need it, but you have talked about doing this before and I don't see why not. You have nothing to lose except the chance to do it for free. Why wonder what it would be like when you have the chance to find out? Like you said, it wears off so there is nothing to worry about. Go for it and see if you like it or not. me

Yes I would go for it. It's a great chance to see what it's like - you might really like the effect you get. He's obviously properly trained and qualified which is the main thing. I see what you mean about what if you really like it and can't afford to have it done again but to me that's the only real drawback I can see. It sounds like you need very little done anyway - just go for it! Oh and remember to post the before and after pics!

I checked out the doctor first and foremost. He is now practicing medicine in the same office I go to and is highly qualified so I am not worried about something crazy happening. I don't need much but it would be nice to see that squint line soften and maybe those laugh lines around my eyes when I smile be less noticeable. He said I wouldn't look younger, just softer and more relaxed. I like that idea. I think he is trying to hook me on it so I become a lifelong patient. Ha! My sister and I am are going back and forth and we hate to lose the opportunity. We won't get this chance again and I may hate it and never wonder about it again! Or I may love it and have to sell all my shoes to pay for it again. Haha. Thanks for the reply and I will post pics if I do it.

Go for it girl, I did the botax about a year and a half ago and the results last months, not 3 months like they say, but longer. I was 47 when I had it done cause I wanted the laugh lines (as they call it) around my eyes gone, well they left and I looked great. The results I found did not happen overnight it took about a week and I loved it, was thinking about going and getting it done again cause it looked so good.

I saw some amazing pictures of real people who looked relaxed, not all Joan Rivers like I imagined. I look at it as a chance to see what this stuff does and to see if I actually feel better with a few less lines. I don't have many (I am so lucky) but it would be fun to see that middle line go away. I hate it. My sister has the same line between her brows. I don't know if it is from squinting or what but we both hate it. I figure it's free and I will know if I like it for when I really think I truly may need it. I don't know if I ever will feel that way but I suspect, being me, I will start freaking when the big lines come. Thanks for the reply!

I think I would do it.I read and watch about it a lot and it is not dangerous it can only help you look better.I am gonna send my fiancee for Botox, but he doesn't know about it yet. It can be a little bit of adventure, but why don't try it?When you will have it done, please let us know, how you like it.I wish you the best luck.

I would love to send my husband for some Botox! But he won't even darken his mustache a little. Sheesh. It is an adventure. I used to wonder what it would be like to go get Botox but I never seriously thought about it until now. I told my sister it'll be like a day at the spa together. Haha. If I do it, I will post pics. I am not ashamed to show people before and afters. Maybe it will help someone else make a decision. I doubt I will see any big results but I wanna know! I think. Thanks for replyng!

Yeah, that is what I am thinking. He does filler next but said I have nothing to fill. I DO! I have little lines he could fill. Sheesh, doctors. lol. I will let ya know if I do it. It's really not a big deal like surgery which I would NOT have for free or otherwise.
