Looking for Good Movies To See

I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good horror or thriller movies. Now, when I ask for good horror please don't recommend the bloodiest movies...I'm not a fan of gore. If there IS gore in a movie, but it really is good, then go ahead and recommend it. And if you have a movie you thought was really good that isn't a horror or thriller you can recommend it, I'm up for anything. I just prefer horrors and thrillers. The reason I am asking is because I'm adding a bunch of movies to my Netflix list! hehe. Thank you!

Hey there, have you seen Perfect Strangers yet? It has Bruce Willis and Halle Barry, it's very good, a thriller, I think. I love horror movies...have you seen any of the films from the horrofest? Here's a list, there's eight in all, but can't remember all the names. They are all good, and not too gory...Wicked Little Things, The Hamiltons, GraveDancers, Dark Ride, Unrest, well, that's all I can remember. I'll let you know if I think of the rest! Have fun!

I have not see The Perfect Stranger yet, but that is one I may be interested in seeing. I've been debating it lately lol. I saw Wicked Little Things and Penny Dreadful from Horrorfest. I think Unrest would upset me, I know GraveDancers would scare me to the pit of my very soul. The Hamiltons would def. upset me a lot, lol. And Dark Ride looked scary, that might be one I can consider though. I'd have to think about it. I also saw Pick Me Up, I didn't like that one. I thought the way it was filmed was kind of cheesy, but the storyline was good.

I liked Shallow Ground. It's one of those that takes a while to explain what is going on. Some gore but kinda interesting. It might fall under the category of ghost movie but not exactly. Might see if it's one you'd be interested in.

Oh, Well I just read the description, and I remember watching the preview for it a while ago. The preview scared me, so I don't know if I could handle seeing the movie...maybe I'll watch the preview again! lol

I totally agree with me! I HATE the torture movies, like Saw and Hostel. I didn't see any of the Saw movies, and never will. But i made the mistake of going to Hostel with my dad and sister...I'll never see it again, and I won't go to the second one. Most of the horrors coming out now are all about the blood and gore...who can gross the audience out the most. Don't they know we want to be scared, not sickened!

I haven't watched any of those movies either. I have a friend that explained part of what points the Saw movies are making, to do with valuing ones life, and it made me slightly interested in seeing them. I don't know if I ever will though. I really don't plan to ever watch Hostel or Touristas. I don't think someone could pay me to watch them even. :P I do kind of wonder what's going on in the collective psyche of the planet right now since these movies seem to be so popular. I wonder if it has any connection to th whole issue of torture of prisoners being in the media. I know I personally prefer horror movies that have a level of intrigue or mystery in them, along with the occasional tongue in cheek one which Freddy vs. Jason turned out to be. I suppose it all depends on taste and on what one finds frightening versus what is down right disturbing and makes a person feel like they need to take a shower for their brain.

Oh 23! I didn't think about that one. I was kind of interested in seeing it, not really decided on it. I might add it just so I don't forget about it again lol. Thank you! :)

Hello LilyoftheThorns!:-) There are very few in Horror/Thriller genre which can be said to have quality. Many are made just around spilling blood, making ugly looking or weird faces (which are sometimes funny, lol!) and things like that. Anyways, have you seen; Pulse, underworld:Evolution, 1408, Fracture, First Born (it s rather disturbing, not actually horror) there are many others. I'll send you a link and I hope you will enjoy!:-)

I saw 1408 in theaters and I recently saw Fracture on dvd. Loved them both. I wanted to see Pulse when it came out but never got a chance! I forgot about that so thank you for reminding me, I'm going to add that one right now! :) I saw the first Underworld, liked it...but i think the new ones might scare me because I don't really like vampires...lol. Are there werewolves in Evolution? I saw the preview for First Born, and I'm not sure I should see that. Babies and young children are a very sensitive issue for me and that movie might upset me.

I like the film 'Identity' It isn't very well known and i can't remember any of the actor/actresses names but really don't let that put you off. It's a horror/thriller that on the surface seems like a regular scary movie but it is actually very clever and i'd definitely recommend it.

Do you mean the movie where everyone is being murdered in the hotel they are stranded in? If so, yes I saw and loved that movie. Some of the actors are John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Ray Liota, etc. I don't think the 2 you said are in it, if we are thinking of the same movie.

do you mean the remake of Halloween or Halloween Ressurection (last one made so far)? I saw Halloween Ressurection...it was okay, but not great. I can't get the remake with NetFlix yet, but I do want to see it in theaters.

I do not watch other horror movies than vampire stuff like Interview with the Vampire, Underworld 1 & 2 and Van Helsing. I am interested watching vampire tales when it comes to scary movies.

I've seen Van Helsing, and Underworld 1, and I liked them both. I just don't really care for vampires, they are too creepy to me lol.
