Hi all,
Now a days people are living in a world which is empowered with technology. Every one is experiencing luxury and digital life. But technology has two sides the good and bad. For example let us take mobile phone which became mandatory for ever person. And the people who are under 16 are also using this mobile phone very much. As a result they are falling in traps and heading into a harmful path. I strongly recommend that schools should ban on mobile phones in the campuses. what's your view?

I totally agree! My kids will not be getting a cell phone until they can drive. And then they will be getting a job to pay for it. I see little kids, 8 and 9, with cell phones. It's dumb. Who are they gonna call?? People really need to stop and think. We didn't have them growing up and we are fine. I think they are only a necessity when teenagers are out and about and could be in a situation where they need you and aren't near a phone. But not an 8 year old!

I have to agree here...tho only 1 year ago i would NOT have lol - i would have been adament about then carrying around a cell phone as well - BUT...
with them both (we have two girls almost 12 & 14) getting active in school ,sports, social fun, dances, sleep overs etc... its not only been GREAT for emergency but they DO call us alot!! which i didnt think they would!
they call when we ask them too.. when they get there... when they switch places they are going.. and when they leave there -- they have even called to ask whats for dinner, if they can stay out later, to say HI to us right after school on way home- ((they cant have them ON during school - in lockers... or not at all))
which i must say is MORE than our OLDER one atleast said to us in TWO YEARS lol ( a teen - i remember how it was lol )
and they are switched off at home!! charging maybe! lol
Its been great a necessity actually and a blessing knowing where they are at all times - and with plans u can get for cells now they dont use half as much as we thought they would
:) xx

I think it all depends, I agree thou that schools should ban them, I am not sure if there is a certan age to get them if they are walking home from school I think it is a good idea to get one, but I think they should have to show responsability in having one

i actually like the idea of having high school kids carry mobile phones as these are necessary in communication especially when it comes to energy. but i think it should be in the discretion of the child or the school to the proper usage of phones in the campus.

I dont thing cell phones should be allowed at school unless it is absolutley necessary ( like a medical reason or family issues. ) If my kids have a job and can help with the bills then they can be added to our family plan, the need to stay with in the minutes and follow all rules. We will let our kids get jobs at 15 or older as long as it isnt effecting their school work.

Hi there adityachandra! Well, personally, I think that should depend upon the kid, and the family's lifestyle. Like if his or her parents are away most of the time, or they share a care and are both busy people, and they usually need to meet somewhere, that can't be determined right away then they need a cellphone. I think that mobile phones for kids should be used as just a form of communication in case of emergencies and stuff. Other than that, I wouldn't want my kid who's below 16 to have his own mobile phone. My son is four years old now and so far, he's been borrwing my mobile phone just to play games on it.

My step-niece is twelve years old and has a cell phone.. I'm sure the only reason she owns this piece of technology is because she asked her grandma ( her mom's mom ) and grandma does whatever the grandkids ask.
I'm more able to understand 16 years and old, any younger than that is obscene.

my nephew just got his 1 mobile on his 13 b'day. The reason he got the mobile is because he travels to school by bus and the bus station is about 2km away. For few months now a person has exposed him self 2 times to the small group of kids waiting for the bus. My sister feel safer knowing that her son has a mobile phone in case he needs to call someone. He is a good boy and his $20 pre paid card lasts him for 3 months and he gets it him self with the change from his lunch money or pocket money.
