This photo isn't that great but is fine enough to make you see the monument for Bredero in Amsterdam, an important part of the Dutch Golden Age. Bredero wasn't a sculpture artist, but a poet of sonnets, and dramatist, depicting especially the seamy side of life in the backstreets of Amsterdam in the middle ages.

I read the Spanish Brabanter ( De Spaanse Brabander) for class at uni (in English unfortunately( but I have never bothered to look up Bredero's statue. Another thing to do when I next go to Amsterdam. Thanks you thefortunes for your raad. Groetjes Dave
