I am a smoker. I have no problem not smoking in restaurants, or in public places. I do think they are taking it too far. Truckers are not allowed to smoke in their trucks if they are driving a truck for a business, is getting carried away. Technically, my sister, cannot smoke in her house, because she has a business that she runs from home, no people come to her home. People go to work, cannot even smoke in their cars. Now companies are giving a time line to quit smoking or you are fired. We have 3 that have done so in our area. That is discrimination. Smoking is not illegal and companies should not be able to go into your personal home life and fire you for what you do if you are not working, unless it is illegal.

Our city has been smoke free in public places for years now. I absolutely love it! It's nice to be able to go out for dinner or a drink, and not come home smelling of smoke. A lot of places seem to be adopting smoke free legislation, and I think this will become the norm in a lot of places.

I think this is just the beginning. Now that our government has decided to be the health police. You will find more and more things being band. The government here is now looking to ban something called trasfat. This is some kind of cooking oil the restaurants use to cook. This is supposed to bad for us so our governement is going to ban it. Where will it stop. Once the government starts telling you what to do and where to do it, it will never stop. I do not like the government stepping in and telling me what to do about anything. I thought we were the land of the free. I guess we are the land of free as long as we do what our government says is good for us. We are not old enough to make our own choices. We are going to be healthy no matter what we want. Our government is also telling us we are over weight and we need to trim down. Where does it end.
A lot of people think this is going to make cancer disappear now. When no one is smoking there will be no more cancer and we will all be healthy.
I personally think that this is the beginning of the loose of a lot of choices.

I think that is a good government program that can prevent smoking in many public places. There are lot of people in public places and smoking in public places can affect many people due to the smoke coming from the smokers. And it is very dangerous to our health.

British Columbia, Canada, it is illegal to smoke in any public place. It is illegal to smoke within 3 metres of any doorway (that's over 3'). It is illegal to smoke outside at "Sidewalk Cafes." Now, it will be illegal to smoke in your car, if you have a child on-board, AND it is illegal to smoke in any Company vehicle,e.g. Transport vehicles. Truck drivers, long-haulers now must pull over & get out of their truck to smoke. Think of this added cost & added time factor!

I dont like it yes i can see why some people do but its my right to do what i want its not like gas fumes from there freaking car is any less harmful. or the puliton that factorys bring out but do they ban that NO. Its also harmful to eat at most the places people eat do they ban fatty food NO. Anything you do can be harmful. But that doesnt give anyone the right to tell other people how they should live nobodys God so nobody has the right. We have the freewill to live as we please and NO LAW is going to tell me otherwise
