Was America right?

What woule you do if somebody comes & sets your house on fire? Yes, right. You will go & blow away that man's house with bomb! Now, let there is an another man, who has not harmed your house, but is an old enemy of yours. What will you do if he laughs aloud while you are weeping infront of your "destroyed" house? Do i need to tell you? you will also blow this man's house.
Don't you think America did the same thing? When America was "hopeless" after the attack on WTC & the unsuccesful attempt to catch Laden, Saddam just added petrol to the fire. America, ofcourse took the challenge of Saddam seriously. America didn't wanted one another Afganistan to be born.
Like most of the people, i am also confused whether Mr. Bush was right or not. Please help me out by giving your valuable responses. Please explain your inferences.

Saddam harbored terrorists, he possessed weapons and materials he wasn't supposed to, and he ignored the inspections of the UN. He wasn't just laughing at the US after 9/11, he deserved to be taken out.

I would just like to say that if someone set my house on fire I would not go out and find a bomb and blow up their house. Nor would I return the favor by setting their house on fire or any of the other negative scenarios that could be said.
I'd do the more appropriate thing and call the cops. The people who are supposed to "serve and protect".
