Which man is more to blame?

Which man is more to blame, the one who attempts to kill another man by swinging a heavy object at his head but misses, leaving his almost-victim completely unharmed. Or the man who forgets to put his handbrake on, car rolls down a hill, instantly killing another man. The first man wanted to kil, had to intention to, yet his actions brought about no death. But his mind, to have conceived of such a malevolent act, can clearly be thought of as having an evil element. The second man had no bad intentions, yet his actions or lack of, caused the death of a fellow human being. Who is worse???????

I'm worried by this question, there is so much more I need to know; did the first man swing the object in temper or cool headedly. Was the second man preoccupied with pressing concerns that he acted so carelessly? all the best urban

Ok, so you're loading against the second man. The question is then which is more important; intention to harm or failure to take care. Hmmm, the first, I guess, surely anyone could have made the second mistake. all the best urban

i say they are both very dangerous men. the first for being able to conceive to kill another and the second for being so mindless as to not be aware of his impact on his surroundings. i would fear the first man more. the second i would just want to be super cautious around.

but, we can all make a mistake surely? Yet we do not all try to kill people?

that is true, which is why i fear the first man more. though the second man...even in his mistake has taken a life. i say that's a pretty big mistake to be able to solicit such an outcome don't you??? we all have the potential to be dangerous whether in our mind or by our actions, and a combination of the two is just devistation. you mentioned the first two scenerios, i expounded on my thoughts given the two separately.

i think the man who lashed out in anger is worse. We are all human and sadly we do get distracted and make mistakes. The man who left his handbrake off had no bad intention. The man who lost his temper showed extreme lack of control.

The one who tried to kill another. No contest.

so am I to assume that you do not think the end justifies the means?
