Cruelty to animals......I just can't beleive some people!

I found Baby last January, and after receiving no help from any animal shelters or rescues finally lost him after about 3 weeks with me. With 5 kids, 2 dogs and a cat of my own, funds were limited. I still miss him terribly and feel sad for all the love he needed that we tried so hard to make up for. What I can't help thinking of is the lack of help or support for the groups set up that lead us to beleive that's what they do. But I also can't help wondering about the people that left him to wonder, dying in the cold who must have owned him at one time.But here's yet another thought. Was I the only on that saw this dog? In all the time it took for him to get the skinny and defeated? What's wrong with our society and does anyone know how to fix it? I can't help but feel for all the other like Baby out there....I guess I'd be bringing them home too!
