I have a friend at work who spend time on line playing poker. Last week she said to me she had lost about 4900$ That are a lot of money to spend on games. She do not have a family she have to provide for, only her self. However I do think it is remarkable to lose such amount in one evening. She also said she had a feeling of being addicted to this game. She plays every night on her own, some days she win and some days she lose. I am afraid that she one day will lose everything she has......what do you think of th?, Do you play poker On line? I would never even consider it.

I play online poker an average of 6 hours a day. It is my primary source of income. I play anywhere from 3 to 10 tables at a time. It's how the bills get paid and will send my kids through college. For me though, it's not fun; It's boring, tedious, monotonous and sometimes downright frustrating. I have some friends like yours though that enjoy the rush gambling brings and even some of the people that do it for a living still have some issues like your friend. Would I ever recommend anyone play online poker? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Unless..... 1. They understand the game of poker. I studied the game and the math theory behind it for four years before I ever invested a dime. 2. They play with a bankroll and manage it accordingly to be able to withstand losses. or 3. They are playing for fun, expect to lose, and are not playing with money needed to support their family. Since I doubt she is running a bankroll of $50k, she's not practicing good bankroll management. I suspect she doesn't even use a bankroll. If she wants to play and learn the game, she should read up on bankroll management strategy and then implement it and she if she can maintain disciple. If not able to maintain, then she should find a "healthier addiction." World of Warcraft worked for one of my friends, he was headed down the same path.

Well, it´s like any addiction if you do not win, you play more hoping the next time will be the one. I think If you know the game, if you have a budget for it, it is ok, but if not ....it is not ok. God luck with your game.

No, i dont play online poker or any other gambling games. I feel your friend is addicted to this, and she may need some help getting past it. Gambling can ruin many peoples lives. Some people lose everything they have. I dont think anyone really wins. The losses outway the wins. Best wishes to you, anetteh

I enjoy playing poker with friends and family, but I dont think I could bring myself to playing online, I wouldnt be able to concentrate, as I would fear losing my money. As far as i am concerned my money is too hard earned to be thrown away on a game of luck x
