I've seen The Exorcist, Constantine, Final Destination etc. so give names of some rare but good quality movies that you like to watch. I've also seen most of Steven Spielberg movies and they are the best when it comes to making a thriller. So give me names of your favourite movies?

well, to be honest I wouldn't consider Constantine a horror movie. I don't personally think of the exorcist as horror either. TO me horror is a killer. Hellraiser, they're horror. Nightmare on Elm Street. Horror. I'm, in general, a huge fan of thrillers/horror/suspenseful type movies. what do you mean rare but good quality? cause that's pretty hard to come by ha ha.

Yeah Good Quality movies don't come everyday. I would say Constantine and Exorcist are horror movies and have thriller look as well. Its not the ghostly faces only that makes a movie horror but its the quality and the screenplay that really classifies a movie as horror. I like the othet movies too you've mentioned but they aren't better than Exorcist and Constantine, these two movies aren't rated one of the best horror movies of all time just like that. These are real quality movies.

well, I was stating my opinions. Let's just say I completely disagree with you and you're opinion is the movies I mentioned aren't better (and FYI I didn't say they were especially because Constantine is not a horror movie in my mind!) and I don't know how you can say the movies I mentioned aren't top rated being that Nightmare, Friday the 13th and Halloween ARE THE TOP Horror films of their caliber from that era (between 1978 and 1985) and if you went to a Horror convention, I'm pretty sure everyone there would disagree with you. I too feel the same about Final Destination, first two were really great but the third part lacked that thrill and excitement that the first two had. I would like to watch Penny Dreadful if it really Scared the living daylights out of you and your sister. Lets see how scary it really is, i'll watch this one as soon as possible.

I liked Final Destination 1 and 2, but the 3rd wasn't really good. The Manchurian Candadite was really good, it is more of a thriller. Penny Dreadful is a HORROR! lol. Scared the living daylights out of me and my sister (we watched it alone at night).

Most of the ones I like are older; I don't really care for most of the more recent slasher type flicks with a ton of violence or special effects or a high body count. I like The Shining, Carrie, The Omen (the original), etc., as well as one from the 1960s, Rosemary's Baby, to name a few.

Carrie is from 1976, The Shining was 1980, both from Stephen King novels. Carrie was directed by Brian DePalma, The Shining by the masterful Stanley Kubrick. The Shining still gives me chills when I see it.

Well if it really gives me chills then i'll go watch it. The only reason i don't watch too much of old movies coz the sound effects and special effects today are far better compared to that time, so i feel maybe some movies won't scare you that much. But if it scares you then i'll watch it.

The Omen and Rosemary's baby are real quality movies but i don't know much about the other ones you mentioned like Carrie etc. Are these too old movies, i'd like to watch if they are relatively new.

My favorite horror film is The Exorcist. I also love Hellraiser, Halloween and Amityville Horror. I consider Hostel to be more of a thriller than a horror film, so I'd call that a favorite thriller.

They made a better remake of the original one or the original still remained better. The story looks interesting though, well all horror movies stories look interesting, you get to know how good that is only after watching it.

Yeah Some movies have the distinction of being a thriller as well as horror. So Hostel and Exorcist can be included in that category as they have a scary look to these movies. I haven't seen Amityville horror, what kind of storyline it has, anything special about this movie....

Well, there are 2 versions of the movie. THe original and the remake. I enjoyed both, but I'd watch the original first. It's based on what is supposedly a true story, though there are doubters and speculation that it was all made up these days. It's about a beautiful house that is, for all intents and purposes, possessed by evil.

Yup these are really good movies. I really like the way they present the same story with an equally new interesting plot and look for the movie. Final destination and Scream too are of the same kind but Final destination is a lot better.

Gremlins - Gizmo - Gizmo, from the funny horror movie The Gremlins
I don,t have a favorite horror movie, because I don,t really like horror. But The gremlins was is part of that category, even if the second one is funny as hell lol. So I would go with that movie for that movie.
