What is a good bedtime?

My daughters go to bed on school night at 8:30. And on the weekend I let them stay up till 10...I have a family member say I put my girls to be dto early on school nights. But I don't think I do cause by the time they do get to sleep it's between 9 and 9:30. And sometimes they are still hard to wake up for school...And on the weekend I think 10 is late enough cause I don't want them to far out of their sleeping habits...What do you think? DO you have a bedtime for your children? Do you let them stay up real late on the weekend even if there is no school?

My 7 year old starts getting ready for bed at 8:30 and is usually asleep by 9:30. I do let him stay up a bit later on weekends, but not too much later. I think you have fine bedtimes for your kids. Kids need more sleep than adults do.

On a school night 8 30 is about the perfact bed time, and on the weekends about ten. Because you do not want to get the kids out of going to bed at the right time this works out about perfect. Plus keeps you from having to carry them to bed when then fell asleep in the living room.

my kids have the same bed time no matter what day od the week it is. what thay stay up later on a weekend it disrupts their internal schedual. making them more tired and grumpy the whole week. i find for the best results t stick to a set bed and rise time no matter what is going on.

Only you can make a decision like that for your kids. You know what their personalities are like & how much sleep they need to be well rested. My kids are home schooled & we all seem to be naturally night owls, so I don't give them a bedtime per say. But when I see that they are beginning to get over-tired, it's off to bed no matter what time.

I know alot of people that put there children to bed and 8 or 8:30. I seems to be a good time. I believe children are suppose to get about 9 or 10 hours a night.

I agree with 8/8:30pm. And it's true that by the time they go to sleep is later than when you put them to bed!

I think 8:30 is a Perfect bedtime for School Nights. When I was a young child my bedtime was 8:30 and my younger nieces and nephews their bedtime is 8:30 as well. I think that most parents usually use 8:00 or 8:30 for a bed time. I think 9:00 PM is the exact limit for younger children and I think 10:00PM is perfect for the weekends.

let them develop their own sleep habit, sleep when they feel it to!
