Is Twenty20 cricket more exciting than ODIs?

These days Twenty20 cricket is becoming more and more popular. Twenty20 world cup is also going on right now? But I think it lacks the excitement of One day internationals. Twenty20 seems a more batsmen oriented format with nothing at all for bowlers in it. What is ur opinion on this? Also what do you see of Twenty20 in the long run? Do you feel it will overcome the popularity on one day internationals? Especially in the Indian subcontinent?

I think twenty20 cricket is more exciting in that it's more fast paced, the batters take more risky shots than they would in a test match or one day international. That said, I think I like them all about equally, I think in future twenty20 cricket will become a major part of cricket matches, just like tests and one day internationals.

Thanks for ur inputs, but dont u think that this twenty20 format is too harsh on bowlers. I mean defending 10 wickets for 20 overs is not a big deal, so the batsmen are not afraid of hitting the bowler, as they know its hard for their team to get bowled out in 20 overs, and thus bowlers get a lot of beating!! Dont u think that cricket is a game for both bowlers and batsmen? And in this format its gud only for batsmen and not bowlers!

To be frank, I have not watched a single 20-20 game so far till now, even though I am a cricket fan, I could not watch it till now but heard that 20-20 is even more commercialized than one day with dance music, etc, hence i feel that it could be the next big thing in cricket as the one day international became in the 80s.

Yes it is def. more exciting than 20 20 but it is not real cricket. It is just about sloggin better. But yes it will bring more speed even in one day 50 over matches. And more runs will be scored in such matches. So I think this is the positive which we can take from such games. And also we cannot deny the fact that we dnt have so much time to watch a 50 over match also so forget abt test matches. So 20 20 is a def. option for us. And they bring more pace and entertainment to the game. And with the century being scored it is proved that openers can score the hundreds http://www.masalaofbollywood.blogspot.com/
