i thought your question is meaningless,
people who talked on mylot maybe ture or cheat,
you cannot say that it must be true or it must be cheat.

how is her question meaningless?? I thought it was a good question and considering this is the internet where one really DOESNT know another, its a very valid question :-/

Do I trust what I read here? Yes. Even if it is fiction. I answer every post that I can truthfully.

I do mostly trust what they say. I don't know why I wouldn't unless the discussion sounded far fetched and unbelievable.

Hi there, what's been up to lately?
Anyway, well there's nothing good to do here in mylot but to be honest and just show yourself and share what you can do to help other people in order to them to help you too.
Whenever i get some responses that against on what i have posted in my discussion, i still accept it and look up their views and respect their opinions as everyone of us are entitled to that.
We all have our own opinions and why not to voice it out if you believe with it? right?
Have a nice day ahead from Kiko and happy posting and earning here in MyLot and Godspeed.

I take people at face value on here. If they say something I believe them. If I catch them out in a lie then I tend to just ignore them in future. I don't doubt for one minute that a lot of people on here just make up stories to get a lot of responses. To be honest, unless it's someone that's my friend, I don't really care that much. Let them carry on doing that if they are so desperate for a few cents. I wouldn't report them for it because it really doesn't matter to me.
As for myself I tell the truth - if for some reason I don't want to give a truthful answer (maybe because I don't want to reveal something about myself) then I'll just skip the question completely.

I like to think I am good judge of character both on and offline, I can't see no reason why my close friends on Mylot would lie. What's the point in making up stuff and wasting your time and others, it seems sad to me, but at the end of the day I have a clear conscious and know that everything I discuss and talk about is fact not fiction.

There are some trolles on myLot, just like anywhere else. Maybe myLot has more than their fair share. However, there are some people telling the truth here. For instance, some of us have our real pictures on our avatars and our real names on our web sites linked from our profile pages. Mostly the liars don't want to reveal their identity. So, if someone is open with who they are, I assume they are more likely to be truthful.

when I read things online i take it with a semi grain of salt but also give ppl benefit of the doubt ya know....I know that I've always been honest about who I am, my life, my past etc etc but I also am aware thta some ppl find it hard to believe simply becuase there HAS BEEN so much trauma and crazy sh!t thats gone on in my life...To some I imagine it does seem too far fetched so to speak..which is fine...but bottomline is this, I dont b.s in real life, why would I do it over the internet ya know....

Hey m,
I try to be as honest as possible w/o possibly hurting someone's feelings. No,it wouldn't bother me if I found out ppl were posting untruths-I don't set the standard too high w/ ppl who aren't intimately close to me that way I don't get my feelings hurt.

I would consider it, but I'll also make sure that I make a proper reearch about that certain topic that is being discussed. It's always good to learn new ideas and share them, but it is us who still has the final decision whether to believe people or not.
But if the topic is about this community, I guess everything that I provide is true because I have valuable links and explanations to support it..

I tell the truth about my experiences and what I feel etc. in mylot. I don't see any reason not to. But if you look carefully, the truth can mean one thing to one person and another thing to another. So, as a Zen practitioner, I tend to ask "what is truth?" a lot!. :-)

I believe what mylotters say at mylot. I don't think that there is need to say false words. We are friends here and we must share our ideas and thoughts. What I say here is true indeed. I am sincere to my friends. If there is something I don't want to say, I can just keep my mouth shut, but still I think that only true words can make you exchange your ideas better with your friends. I hope that you are on my side. Thanks.

I don't trust what EVERYONE says. As with anywhere else, you cannot believe everything you read. Also, a lot of the discussions are opinion-based or based on personal experiences that don't apply to everyone. I think honesty is the best policy, and I try to be as honest as I can be... personal-but-not-too-personal. This is not the place for my private, innermost thoughts, but the good news I don't have to reveal myself 100% on a board like this, and am free to pick and choose discussions that allow me to share only what I am comfortable sharing. Also, I don't rate those I disagree with negatively (but try not to respond either because that could just open up a can of worms). In any case, I think I have been honest for the most part. Not overly revealing, but honest. Do I think everyone is who they say they are? No. Unfortunately I have heard far too many (sadly, true) stories that easily debunk that.

I guess I would give people "the benefit of the doubt" or "innocent until proven guilty". The level of trust also depends on the tasks at hand: is it exchanging knowledge or info, does it involve money etc.
Being an online community means that we cannot see one another face to face or know the background of one another but it has the advantage that we can meet different types of people.

I trust what people say in mylot. I tell the truth about myself but i don't know other mylotters tell the truth about them or not.
