If you were a personnel manager of a organization/business and there are two kinds of applicant. one is a relative of a good and trusted worker is appplying for a job in your company. another applicant for the same job is better.Whom you would choose?

I try to eliminate the relative stuff and judge if the protegee is good for the job or not. If he or she does not fit and you have to kick them in a couple of months, it is not a deal for anybody. Generally, I don't think that job referrals (or in other words protegees) are good and they must be avoided. But sometimes people bring valuable acquaintances to the organization.

But I guess that in many companies the practice is just the same - hire relatives or friends and then altogether play innocent when things start to go bad. Doing business with friends and relatives is quite risky and as I have learned, making compromises is not the same as being blind for one's friend's/relative's shortcomings.
