Do you still live in the state you were born in, and which state is that?

For years it was a rare thing to have been born and raised in Georgia, I've always called my self a Georgia Peach, now I'm finding that there are quite a few people around that were also born and raised here. I know so many people who don't live where they were born and raised, I personally just couldn't imagine living anywhere else. My mom lived in the same house for almost 40 years, and I have always lived within 10 miles or so of her house. My daughter thought for a while about moving to Chicago, but has since decided that she just doesn't think she could move that far from "home".

I was born and raised in Michigan. When I turned 18 I moved to Ohio. A few years later I moved to Mississippi and now I live in New Jersey. I don't plan on being there longer than two more years. So, my answer is no. I do not live where I was born and raised and I never plan on living there again.

No, I was born and raised in Massachusetts, and moved to Maine about 5 yrs. ago. I still visit a lot, because all my friends and family still live there.
I think eventually I may move back, but not right now.

I was born in New York. I still live here. I have never even been out of my state, not even on vacation.

I am Canadian and yes,I do live in the same province that I was born in and I have always been in this province. I have lived in a couple different cities but always Ontario,Canada. The only thing I wish I could do is to leave the city and go back to the country where I was raised!

I was born in Mississippi. I lived in a tee-tiny town, then a medium sized town, and now I live in Hattiesburg. I will most likely stay in Mississippi for the rest of my life. I love this state. Yeah we may be last in everything, but we have fantastic weather (minus Katrina, of course). Our winters are never too terribly cold, our summer was blistering hot (which I love), and you can't beat the hospitality. I was walking in the local library today and said "hey, how are you?" to 4 different people, and got a "good, and you?" back from them...and didn't know any of them. You don't see that in a lot of other places.

I was born in a New Orleans suburb called Metairie, but have lived outside of Raleigh, North Carolina since I was barely three. So no, I do not still live in the state in which I was born. In fact, I am the first generation of my father's family (out of six) to never make home in New Orleans. All generations of my dad's family have been born there, however.

I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. I've lived there, specifically, in South Philly for my whole life & probably won't be moving until I settle for a career & finish schooling. I don't live in the same house but I pretty much just moved a few blocks and/or a house down so nothing drastic. Basically, I can't wait to get the hell out ha.

I was born in Detroit and still live there today. I moved away for a few years but came back several years ago when my dad was sick to help take care of him. I think I will someday move away again as I'm not crazy about the area and don't much like cold winters.

Hi there Peach, its been awhile since I have been able to catch one of your discussions. I was born in Chicago but was raised in TN since I was 13, although not a true native, I could never move back north or for that matter anywhere other then these mountains I call home. I wish I could claim to have been born here.

I've lived in Baltimore, Maryland my entire life so far. My parents were both born and raised here. They moved to Virginia for a few years and then moved back. My mom actually works in the same school that her and my dad both graduated from. Baltimores always been called the littlest big city because everyone knows everyone and everyones connected through people somehow. That's just how it is here.
I wouldn't mind moving away but only northern east coast. I'm not a southern person and I don't know if I could ever leave the east coast.

Hey Peach!
Yeppers I sure do, and that would be Illinois. I dont live in the same city as I was born, which is West Chicago. I now live in Southern Illinois, near the town where I grew up. My parents moved our family here when I was 6yrs old. I lived in Dayton, Ohio for awhile, but managed to find my way back "home". My brother and sister still live in Illinois as well, just not in the same town as me.
Id actually like to live further south, with a 1/2 mile long gravel or dirt drive and a log cabin house sitting on a few acres of land with a porch swing. I love the big city and enjoy the excitement but Im a country girl at heart!
