"to bring dowm the house"??What's that means?

Today I read a English passage ,there a sentence in this passage"to bring down the house".Can anybody explain it to me?I'm puzzled. :(

It's an english expression, which means "to thrash the house down" or "to turn it upside down." It is usually mentioned during house parties, which also allows other people to do whatever they want to. It's meaning cannot be seen on any dictionaries, since it is a streetword/phrase.

Does it mean "blow up"? That is to say ,the house were destroyed by something.

I'm not sure .But I think it must have a deep meaning .
