i do experience mild to medium abdominal cramps whenever i have my period, but these are tolerable. so i just get on with my activities. oh yeah, i cringe from time to time, but i'm okay. i don't take pain relievers, because i feel that it will have negative effects on my body. :-)

I used to get this very badly and not only had pains but also had nausea too. The doctor recommended a tablet called Ponstan which worked well for me. I have a friend who is more into natural things and she says evening primrose oil tablets work for her.

For the first eight or so years, I had no pain or hormonal symptoms at all. Now, I don't exactly have pain, but I do have slight feeling of uneasiness, have minor skin break-outs and get easily irritable. But that never lasts more that a couple of days. Unfortunately, I don't know any quick fixes, not have I really explored any. Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

I guess I am lucky in this aspect.I have never experienced pain during my period. Some friends of mine have the same problem as you do.They drink hot water with red sugar, or jave TCM(traditional chinese medicine) to ease the pain.I guess you may have a try if you are interested.I hope it works.

I get a little pain but not much because I'm on the pill and that lessens cramps. When I wasn't on the pill I found that when I exercised regularly especially exercise for the abdominal area like doing crunches that I hardly had any cramps at all. I take aspirin and use a heating pad when I have cramps and that helps too. I would suggest doing a lot of abdominal exercise and your cramps will not be so painful.

When I was a teen (17 or so) my pains were SO bad, I was bedridden for the first 24-48 hrs...then it seemed to mellow out and even more so after having my kids but now and for the past few yrs (I'm 37 come Tues) its back to severe pain for at LEAST the first 48 hrs...BUT I have a feeling its partly due to other physical/health issues that enhance my pains....I only wish I could solve it LOL for me its heating pads, Aleve, sleep, staying off my feet as much as possible....

Hi there. I use to have bad menstral pains the day before and during the first day of getting it, and I use to just handle it, it got that bad that I ended up taking 2 Nurofen capsules, and that really did ease the pain... Now days I dont get them as bad as I did before... I found that since Ive been drinking this Oolong tea/Wu long tea the menstal pains I once got, have minimise big time...

Yes I have, as a matter of fact I've posted a discussion last time if is it safe to drink a pain reliever during menstrual period. Everytime my monthly period is nearly to come i always feel so sick, I mean a headache that makes my body feel so hot but i dont have a fever. If i feelin this way all i do is to drink a paracetamol to relieve from pain and not to suffer for this pain so much. I dont have any idea on how to solve this problem maybe you have to ask it for your ob-gyne or better try to research for it. A healthy balance diet may also help us to release the pain but I am not so sure of that.

When I was a teen I feel so much pain in my abdomen. I can't even stand because of the pain. I would just lay in the bed for a couple of days.

I don't have it every month but there are times I am barely conscious because of pain. If i have opportunity I just take a pill and slip it through:/ If I can't I try to warm myself with something to drink or just my belly with a pled or electric pillow. But when I'm out there's nothing much I can do, I have to bare with it v.v
