Do you live in a complex or in an individual house? How do you like it? I live in a complex.I initially had my own fears as i had heard alot of negative things about living in a complex.I must tell you how i really enjoy living there. You have different types of people and its up to each individual to choose their friends. All festivals are community gatherings.Children have a real ball.If you have a single child the child has enough and more company. For parents its a safe feeling however late it is we know in whose house the child is in.We get involved in alot of activities. Its great fun.Maybe for the prize i paid i could have had a very big individual house. But what about the other facilities we have the gymn, all the games, then there are the friends whom you can walk with every day.More then anything else.I feel very secure there.People are very helpful. We look forward to our new year celebrations which go on for more than 10 days. For holidays children never want to go anywhere leaving their friends.

Yes I agree with you completely. I live in a stand-alone building. I would have loved to live in a complex for the following reasons: 1. A complex has a guarded wall around it and a security personnel at the gate, which imparts a certain amount of safety to the flats inside. Not anyone and everyone can walk in at will. it is most secure for the elderly and for single people. 2. A complex has many families residing together and you are bound to bond with some families and develop a friendship with them. so you don’t feel alone even if you don’t have friends from outside. 3. kids don’t feel lonely either as there are several kids in a complex and they have space and opportunity to play together. 4. all problems related to the building is taken care of the committee looking after the complex and you don’t have to run after plumbers and masons to fix things in your flat. You just pay the committee and they will find the workmen for you. 5. and last as you said, religious festivals are a community affair. But just as wishes are not horses, so is my unfulfilled desire to live in a community building LOL!

Thanks for the honour. And yes, I think in my old age when I have accumulated enough money, I will buy a flat in a community enclosure and shift there. It would be ideal for an old woman like me.

I also live in a complex. It is great fun.I just love those intruders at odd times with glee on the pretext of friendship and yap for hours over the subjects which are poison to me unmindful of our growling bellies which yearn for the limited food waiting for us.And I love those brats with a stink who barges in the midst of our trance with our only favorite program in TV that comes once in million years and gluttening away with whatever available.I like the common pool with hippos in swim suits and brave the gym to see the California Governors.Wow what a complex life.

I live in a complex. I am a very quiet person and keep to myself alot but I do know and am friendly with my neighbors. At first, I was a bit apprehensive of all the neighbors and the closeness of all the apts. Ive been here a while and taken moments to chat and get to know my neighbors without getting overly involved in their lives. We don't have all the activities that your place does but we do all look out for each other and each other's kids. We do all work together to keep it a decent place to live. We have each others backs, you could say and i like that. I rarely say more than a friendly hello to the people next door as i pass by but when I learned they were having financial difficulies a couple of years back i rounded up some others and we donated what we could to help them thru. He is a computer whiz and has since helped me countless times when my computer has acted up.

Thank you for responding. Its always good not to be overly involved that way you respect others privacy and vice versa.Community living is a good exposure for both adults and the kids. Its good of your'll to have helped someone who was in need. These small acts of kindness mean alot.

I live in an idividual house I heve never lived in a complex or a building and I dont think I can live there. I like my privacy and big yard and space. I know that in complez life is never boring and kids are safer and have someone to play with all the time and thats a big plus but I am lucky because many of my neighbours have kids so they can always come and play and be looked after.

Hi! I am really overwhelmed that so many have responded.Thank you.I really envy you.It must be great to look out of the window and to see water and boats.I've always longed to live near the water. When i was a student my hostel was near the beach and my room was on the 12th floor.I used to enjoy sitting and watching the sea,the boats, the fishermen, the visitors on the beach etc.Hope you are able to buy your own place.Good luck.

Yep. There are pros and cons living in complex housing, ours is usually called condiminium. You feel 90% safe from robberies though you cant avoid in house thief but so far living in our building for 5 years, we still havent encountered any incident. My big advantage right now since its a 17 storey building, I get to stairclimb for 30-40 minutes and have a great workout without paying any membership dues to high cost gym clubs. Though ours is not the more friendly people neighborhood, we do love our privacy and security the building provides especially for our daughter and dogs.

yes i agree with you about the big advantage of climbing stairs.I also do that and i think that really did the trick of keeping me fit.I am glad you are enjoying your privacy.I always found the security to be the biggest advantage in these living places.Atleast when you want to take off on a holiday without a thought you can just lock up and leave peacefully.

I live in a single family home. We live in a pretty nice neighbor hood. Not somewher I would let my kids run with no supervision but a good place. We have a 3 bedroom 2 bath house. Its very nice. We only rent right now but are in the process of looking for a new place.

hi, We called our house a Green House located in a city. With a fresh color of mint green and off-white. We rented the house for almost 7 months and hopefully by the end of this year we can purchase a new house. We had a very good neighbor and the climate was good. My daughter can play outside the house because the backyard is fully secured with fences and grills.

I live in a mobile home, commonly called a trailer. I love it because it is like having an individual house, and it is not as stressful to clean, because it is not so big. It is very personal, but you have like 80 other trailers out where I live, and the people are nosey, so you have to be careful as the walls are thin. I dislike it on the other hand because sometimes it is not as warm in the winter, or cool in the summer due to poor insulation problems.. TY

I live in a apartment complex and I hate it because I have nothing in common with the neighbors. I have 2 children and there are no children that live in the apartment complex, and my neighbors are very nozzy and unfriendly. I am moving soon hopefuly my new neighbor where I move to are civil and friendly.

I live in a house and i love it. We live on a farm with lots of land. We have so much privacy, its great. I dont think i could ever live out in town. All the cars passing by at nighttime would drive me nuts. I probably wouldnt be able to get to sleep....

Hi! thanks for responding. You seem to be fully enjoying your privacy and the serenity around you.I can imagine how it would be to give up this peacefullness for town life. Those who live in the city get so used to the noise that they find the silence frighening and they compalin they cant sleep.Have a nice time.

I live in complex also.I am not sure if I like it here or not, while I am use to live in the house. Each living has some advantages and some disadvantages. In house you have much more space, you can have garden with fresh vegetales and fruits. And you have your own privacy. Here in complex you have a gym and swimming pool, but not much privacy, while everybody are watching you.And I guess breaking to apartmen is probably easier than to a hosue, while we had already too here in 3 months. I think it's really up from what kind of personality you have.If you like a lot of attention around, then complex is probably better.

It depends on how large the complex is.If it is very large you will not get the attention you are mentioning you will be literally lost in the crowd and you can choose your friends and have your circle. And again it depends on each individual tastes and preferences it varies from person to person.

I live in an apartment building on the third floor. I wish I had my own place. The neighbors are always playing their music to loud at all hours of the day. I'm the only one here with one car. The rest of the units have two or more cars. Most days after working a 12 hour shift I have to come home and hunt for a parking place. I have to keep my door locked. The girl that lives upstairs will walk into our apartment. She is old enough to know which apartment is hers.

Thank you for responding. The drawbacks you have mentioned that you are facing must be quite irritating for you.I agree with you that you will definately want a place of your own where you will not face these sort of problems.Hope you a get a place to your liking. All the best.
