There is a question of choice only between two similar things. It is ridiculous to be asked to make a choice between girl friend and parents. They are both in diffeent compartments. BY THE WAY, has the girl friend made her ultimate choice of cutting all ties with her parents and siblings? Where is her sense of equality now? Or does she not have anyone?Do not confuse attraction caused by hormones to be LOVE. lOVE COMES WITH TIME AND UNDERSTANDING. Love at first sight is fit for books. What you feel may end up to be temporary and do not waste time with satisfying girl friend in all aspects because by and large women are emotionally VERY GREEDY. [I myself am a woman and I am not biassed-I have seen the attitude of many unfair women]

If the girlfriend loves you she will not ask you to make such a choice. You can meet herhalf way,[come to a via media] but cannot give in totally to all her whims and fancies. Take a sensible decision, and talk to her if she is reasonable and intelligent. Otherwise, if she is too bigoted to listen, then cut your losses and run. What sort of relationship would it be if one person has to give in all the time?

Hullo there! There is a difference in interpretation between 'greedy' and 'Emotionally greedy.' By the way, I am a fifty year old woman with a very happy marriage and family, who still believes in Romance ,[the number of books that I still read andthe songs that I sing can bear testimony to this-In fact my husband and son and my in-laws can stand up and vouch for me that I am a diehard romantic]. Women are survivors and they have certain qualities that have scientifically been proved and many of us agree. Sense of fairness was what I was talking about, and if you cannot agree to disagree, so be it.
