Best Friend

The idea of havinf a girl for best friend to me is double happiness-friendship with a girl goes beyond the elbow, if the friendship blosoms, it could turn out to be a life long relationship that could end in marriage! An before you realis it, one who was just a friend could turn out to be the mother or the father of your children

Yes, I do agree that a male person could have a guy for a best friend and vice versa. There's no rule objecting this matter. Based on my personal experience, it's better to have a male friend for a best friend and I'm a girl. For one, he could give you the opposite gender's view on certain matters. For us girls, these views may seem to be absurd but it's the real world and people have differing views. Also, he could be your big brother who will protect you from rude guys who might want to court you. But if there are advantages, there certainly are disadvantages. And what I could think of at this moment is; the problem enters when he starts courting you and admits that he loves you not just for being a friend but more than that. It happens and it already occurred with me and my male best friend. A male friend and classmate called me up at home and told me that he likes me. Naturally, I was surprised at this revelation and remained speechless for several minutes. In the school the succeeding days, I acted like my usual self; as if nothing happened. After a few months, I finally decided to tell it to my male best friend and to ask for his advice. He's older by two years than me. He told me that it's so easy to like me and it's no surprise that this certain friend of ours did just that. To my surprise again, he admitted that he, too, has feelings for me. He said that eventhough he wanted to court me then; he restrained himself from doing so because he doesn't want to ruin our friendship. Honestly, my inner feelings for these two male friends were different. With the first one who called me up on the phone, it's not that I don't like him but I guess I could be his friend but just that - just friends; nothing more. With my male best friend, I guess I do feel something for him, too. When I heard that he wanted to court me, my stomach got nervous and all I could think of at that instant is I wanted him to embrace me. It's really hard. Even now that we have our own separate lives, I still do think of him and cherish our happy times together.

i think dats true. i have many friends but sincerely saying i cant trust a single of them. but i can trust my gf

I too have many friends but i dont trust any of them.I do agree that girl-boy n vice cersa can be good friends n even boys-boys....but i dont knw whether this one is the same for girl-girl...differences of opinion,egoes creeps in n destroys friendship as i have observed...wht u say...

Of course it will be great! Yes, girl-to-boy as best friends is alright. I have experienced it too but it's just the opposite with the 2 situations i had. Cause, my ex-best friend said he liked me more than a friend, then the other one too told me that he wants to be mature already so we lost our friendship. hehehe.. my advice to you is that, if you're really comfortable with that friend, first ask yourself if that's just it or maybe you don't just like him/her but you love her/her at all.heehehe.. take care!
