Sewing--a wonderful pastime

I have been sewing for the past 40 years. I absolutely love to sew! I have made all my daughter's clothes until she was 16. I also have made Christmas gifts for family and friends, everything from faux fur coats to smoking jackets to faux fur throws. I make my extra money for remodeling the house from making artist teddy bears. Through the years I have had to put aside my sewing for various reasons, and found that I got over stressed and sick from not having an outlet for my stress. It is such a wonderful stress reliever and it also is productive too. I have to opportunity to make unique clothing for myself and also save money on home dec, such as making drapes. I've worn out 8 sewing machines with all the work I do, so it gives you an idea of how much sewing I do. My next purchase is a serger! I do most of my sewing alone as I have found that it makes me terribly nervous to have people looking over my shoulder.

actually i dont like sewing.lol,but i like the product,that is finished by others,my friends,my family,but not me,coz i am not that patient,and it cost a lot of time,i prefer to have some part-time job if i have too much time.my young sister is good at this, i should say,she is good at many things,if those things can be made by hand.i am so different from her.her sewing is a great treasure for me,very important.

I like to cross stitch when I have the time. I find it relaxes me a lot more than playing on a computer lol. I dont do it often but when im really stressed I pick up my pattern and carry on from where I left off. I also like the satisfaction of completing one knowing that i did a good job and seeing it framed. Lol at one point i was selling them but i got too annoyed at working to a deadline for it so i went back to doing it for pleasure.
