Hello candyfirst69!(",)
I would prefer cats because we have lot of cats here in the house and I enjoy them especially Meo-wee. She is super cute with a color of orange and white. She likes to play with us alot.
I chose cat because I'm used to having them around compared to dogs. I also like dogs but those friendly ones only. I'm afraid to be bitten by dogs.
How about you? Which would you prefer a dog or a cat?

Cats and Dogs are super cute. For me I am a cat person, and I love having them around me. With dogs I am not to sure about them. Whilst I would like a dog there doggy smell is a real turn off. Sorry to the pooches! If everyone was the same we would live in a pretty boring world. Bye

First, I believe that if you can care for an animala properly and wish too, any animal is a good idea. However, I also believe that the need of the animal should help you choose. I prefer cats, they are lower maintenance than dogs and thus I can do a better job of being their 'person'. I have always owned cats. I have often wanted a dog but I am unwilling to compromise its haainess or health for my own wants. A cat needs little care. A litter box, food, water, a little room to play in and love. a dog really needs much more. Dogs also need food, waater, love, but few are small enough to use a box. This means at least twice a day EVERY day, they need to be walked to 'do theiir business', rain or shine, hot or cold, whether you really have time or are just too tired. If you don't have understanding neighbors or a yard the poo has to be collected and disposed of. and dogs need EXERCISE and lots of it. A dog should have 2-3 HOURS of good exercise DAILY to be healthy. Again, every day no matter what. It needs to walk, to run. Dogs be nature are ranging animals, in the wild dog species are on the move all day and most of the night. Cat sre stalkers, in the wild they sleep some 20 hours a day and hunt by sneaking slowly up on their food until they attack. This is, according to experts the biggest failure of dog owners. They do not exercise their dogs enough. Unless you have a big yard where it can run without getting into trouble, that exercise is on you, so you need to have those hours free to exercise the dog. This is my biggest reason for not having a dog. we have a yard but it is unfenced and o ur neighbors complain when other people's dogs come into their yards. This has led to some neighbors dogs being taken by the animal control people, and we know what happens to them then. I work, often two jobs, and care for my elderly mom. I simply cannot spend 2-3 hours daily walking or exercising a dog. So I choose cats. They can get their exercise quite nicely indoors and their natural exercise patterns allow it. Mine stalk their toys and will run about for a bit, but not long really, much like the activity levels of wild cat species. Cats do not need as much human interaction as dogs do. Dogs are social pack animals and if they live in your home, you are their pack, so they need lots of time with you, playing and loving etc. Cats are more solitary, although no less loving. a cat can be perfectly fine spending a bit of time with you in the evening or such. I would suggest you look at your lifestyle. If you do not have lots and lots of time to spend with your pet in one-on-one activity and the time needed to provide for its need for exercise, a cat is probably the best choice for you, and for the pet.
