So, Yamada Tarou Monogtari is another j-dorama. It has a lots of humor too, but it's more about family and relationship we have with our folks. Yamada Tarou is very popular in his high school. He's smart, handsome, talented and rich. Well, at least everyone thinks he's reach. In reality he lives in extreme poverty with his mother and six siblings. He works part time jobs at night but smile never abandons him. What do you think of this series? Have you seen it all?

Truly a fantastic drama. I loved this one a lot, even more so than the manga itself. Ninomiya was perfect as Yamada Tarou, with his glowing smile and his kind nature. Similarly, Sakurai Sho was great as the 'somewhat bored best friend', Mimura Takuya.
Honestly, Tamada Tarou encapsulates the perfect son: smart, handsome, talented, hard-working, kind-hearted, thrifty. I honestly think that if I were in his situation, I would've given up a long time ago, so I admire him a lot.
So yeah, if you're looking for a great family and comedic drama, I'd suggest Yamada Tarou Monogatari.

I totally love this J-dorama!! Just because of Nino and Sho. Nino is just so cute and adorable here. Although it's really exaggerated how he and his family live their day to day lives like sharing a single tomato and a single piece of egg over dinner and how he doesn't eat at all for the sake of his siblings.
It's also weird how his father manages to travel around the world while leaving his family and six children behind. And his mother is also weird. It's weird that she doesn't know any of the household chores even if she is always staying at home.
Anyway since Nino ans Sho are so cute, I'd pass criticizing the storyline further.

This is one of those series which are so easy to watch that I can watch it when I need to relax my brains. There's no super heart wrenching moments, there's no scenes where you need to use your brain to decipher something. It's simply an easy and fun watch.
Sho and Nino did a wonderful job in this series and I'm supper surprised when they used Air Guitar scenes here. Makes me remember their G no Arashi days XD Personally, I like the drama more than the manga. The manga is kinda draggy for me. Sho-kun's reaction are the best!
On a side note: Nino in maid outfit is cute XD

i find the lead actor here really valiant... =D he'd go through all that sacrifices just for his family...
what's weird however was when his family got rich (because a friend left her mansion to tarou's father's care), he suddenly felt maladjusted and wished to return to hie life of poverty...hmm...
but it's a good story though...touching...
and the air guitar scene looked fun.
