Do you think you need a collge education to make more than $50,000 a year. I have been in the military all of my working life, so I don't know if college is needed in order to get a good paying job. What do you think? Regardless, I know the best direction to take is to go to college, however I think an arguement can be made, that it's not necessary, in order to get a well paying job, with benefits.

The importance of college in getting a $50k a year (or better) job is wholly dependent on what you want to do. If you want to be a journalist, writing for CNN, you need college. If you want to be an electrician, you have to apprentice. Here in Colorado, if you are young, single and willing to work really long hours, workers in the oil and gas drilling industry start out making $40-50k without any college education. Even if you aren't young and single but willing to be away from your family for two weeks at a time...

I think it's not about the issue of earning a lot. It is finding a job which would fulfill your dreams and desires in life. Yes education is important and it would be a big advantage to have one especially in some countries wherein the high paying jobs are offered to those with college degrees. Well it's still up to you if you will pursue a degree or not because in the end it all comes done to one question and that is "Are you happy with what have you done with your life?"
