Who determines who walks into our lives?

I only know that it is up to us to decide who we let walk away,who we let stay ,and who we refuse to let go.

it is still very much up to us, and only we could choose whom we want to still continue seeing, or those we let go, and those who we would choose to stay.
its still up to us, though circumstances might help to make you think otherwise the last decision is still up to us, no matter what.

That's true also, but if you've never seen / met / had any contact with someone how can you choose to be their friend? How would you know about them enough to make that decision?

I think God / fate ... also, when we are small, our parents, the circle of friends that they have and the decisions that they make about things like our schooling (which determines who our peers are), etc.
