I'm looking for all experienced pit bull owners to give me tips for keeping my dog happy. I've already realized that he seems happiest when he is well exercised, he loves his walks and loves to pull. Any other suggestions? I appreicate your input.

I have had my pitbull since he was 7weeks old. Things that kept him happy were playing with him in the yard (exercise) going for walks and he loved chew toys especially raw hides. They like a lot of attention and love, if they don't get enough attention they will act out in a bad way usually by chewing every thing in sight and being bad. My dog liked to sleep in the bed with us, we used to let him until he got to big and started kicking us in his sleep! He was happy as long as he was being spoiled and now in his older age he is happy with a raw hide to chew on and rides in the car.

Lots of exercise of course but ours enjoys lots of bones to chew on and a rope to play tug of war with. She also loves tennis balls.

Being an experience pittie owner I can say you are on the right track. Any breed, not only pits, need excercise to be fit and happy. The more you work with your doing with even simple training the better dog they will be. I suggest socializing your dog as much as possible. It will not only make your dog happy, but if you socialize your dog well then you will be a happy pittie owner when some ignorant person comes up to you and acts like your dog is a killer and your dog shows he's a good well trained and socailized dog and proves him wrong. They say when the owenr is happy the dog is happy. That is my greatest satisfaction, when I can show people that pitties are not bad dogs. Good luck with your pittie :)
