How old were your kids when you took them off baby formula?

My son was 11 months old when I put him on cow's milk. He did not have a problem adjusting to the milk at all. My mom said that all six of us kids were on milk at 6 months old. My daughter is almost 8 months old and I was thinking about starting to slowly give her cow's milk.

My son went to cow's milk when he was around 14 months old or so. That's what his doctor recommended. He was on the next step formula from about 10 months old, because the doctor was hoping it would help him gain some weight (He was above the 90th percentile for height, and right at the 25th for weight). If he hadn't been so thin, we probably would have switched him at 12 months, since that is what the doctor recommends for children who aren't so thin.

My doctor always said at 10 months so that is what I did. Of course with my first I weaned him off formula, giving him 1/2 formula-1/2 milk but with the last 2 as soon as they 10th month came - went straight to milk. Was happy not to have to pay the price of formual any longer!! Then again, with the price of milk these days - I'm not so sure that I'm actually saving anything...LOL!!
