foot caught in escalator o_O

Crocs - Crocs Inc. is an American company founded by Lyndon "Duke" Hanson, Scott Seamans, and George Boedecker in July 2002. Based in Boulder, Colorado, the firm was created to market a lightweight plastic shoe first developed and manufactured by Foam Creations Inc. of Quebec.

Originally intended as a boating/outdoor shoe because of its slip-resistant, non-marking sole, Crocs introduced its first model, the Crocs Beach, in November 2002 at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show, selling out the 200 pairs produced at that time.

Despite only a small marketing campaign, Crocs became popular in the United States and elsewhere because of word-of-mouth praise for their comfort, bright colors, light weight (about six ounces), and unique design.

Take my advice, if you're wearing Crocs or flip-flop sandals, use the elevator instead of the escalator. Many escalator accidents involve the use of Crocs and other soft-soled shoes because they easily get caught in escalators. And a lot of those accidents happen to children, some as young as 2 yrs old. A 2 yr old girl wearing rubber clogs even had her big toe completely ripped off in an escalator accident. That is really bad, poor girl. I know when my son was younger, maybe early teens he would not fasten the laces in his trainers as that was the fashion then. We came down an escalator and at the bottom his lace caught and he could get it free, loads of people where behind us and someone luckily presssed the button to stop it moving. Someone from a nearby shop had to come with scissors to cut his lace so we could get off and then everyone had to walk down the escalator as it could not just be turned straight back on. I know it could have been much worse but is was really embarrasing.

at first youll be fascinated by the way it looks and then you'll buy one. its comfortable alright. but when you start something to do like ride a motor bike, it will tear you apart. like one time im in a hurry riding my motor bike i forgot to change my crocs. see what happen is, the slipper/sandal caught on the breaks of my motor bike. so i fell as i stopped the motor. i was bruised and humiliated because a lot of people saw me. geez that was a total nightmare.

I never realised that they could be such a danger! I mean I havent bought any because in my eys i think they're ugly lol but my daughter has been nagging me for a pair for a while. After reading that report im sure as heck not going to buy any now. I really dont like the way the company is saying that they have had very few reports of accidents either, it seems like they're shrugging this off and they shouldnt.

I don't like Crocs or flip-flop sandals. They are very uncomfortable shoes to me. I can see where accidents would occur on the escalator. The back of either the crocs or flip-flop sandals have no way to keep your feet in them if you catch them on something. I like the good old fashioned shoe. One of the responses you had wondered why the company didn't address the accidents that have happened with the crocs. They are the popular shoe and they make a lot of money off them so they are not going to admit there are a lot of accidents that happen with them. Myself personally I think they are a ugly shoe and not very comfortable. I have bought a pair and tried to wear them and couldn't because I didn't like the way they felt.

the accidents happen because their parents are not looking at them.it can happen whatever shoes the child wears if you are not watching them.I did an experiment on my crocs if it will really caught the escalators.I did it many times but I was safe.I was curious so I went to the mall many times w/ the crocs and my relatives said I should not buy one.
