I did. I had to let him 'get away' because the timing was all wrong for us. In hindsight he (and his parents) were completely right with that decision but it left me devastated for the longest time.
I found him again, though. Not that I ever really let go of my hope or that we ever really lost touch. We talked periodically, by the phone or email or letter. Even when he got engaged to the second love of his life, I knew it wouldn't pan out so it wasn't a huge surprise to me that after she broke his heart he reached out to me for support, and 6 or 7 months later, we struck up where we left off. It's been over 2 years now.

Sometimes I really wonder if there would be the "one" in life. Anyway, I really loved a person and it was hard for me to let go, I thought he was the "one" but he cheated on me, so apparantly, that was only my thought. We are still friends now but I am not really he was the "one" who escaped. I, somehow, stop looking for the "one" now, the thought is just too tiring and we never really know if he is the "one" until the story ends. *laughs* So I just take it easy for now and try to be happy most of the time.

I know what you mean, it's like you're always looking for something you can't see so why bother looking anymore? It's best when things just happen and evolve into their own destiny.
