Who has named you

My name was given by my father. I have three siblings. My father named us three with the middle character 'small or little or young'. Later when I grow old enough, I asked my father why he gave us such a character. He said that our great leader Deng Xiaoping also had the same character in the middle of the name. hehe. I could say nothing but to accept it as I could not change my name. It would be nice to be always 'young' even when I am old. I love it because I am always young. hahahaha.

My parents wanted to name me April because i was born in that month... but my grandmother objected so she gave me the name of a saint... with Maria... all of us sisters should have Maria as a first name but the nurse at the hospital where i was born blundered by not adding Maria... she also got my middle name and surname wrong...

hello shamrack!!! I was named by my mother too, it is the name of her favorite artist. There was a movie before i was born that she got hooked to it. She just loved the lead actress and it was quite a nice name for me.lol! keep posting!!!Tc

I know it was both my parents who decided for my name. They named me after a famous movie actor in our country. Honestly I dont really like my name that much, but I understand that if it is given to you it is very precious and its being blessed by God during baptism. So now I love my name and I am proud of it.

My name was picked out in a lot and one of my father's friends chose it. It was christmas eve when my father got to know he had a daughter (he was in Bahrain and my mother was in India). So, he threw a party for his friends and they all decided to pick out my name. Apparently, the first few that he picked out of the lot were wierd funny names (like chikoo, pickoo and stuff like that). My name means a part of the day and my avatar signifies that time of day. I'm glad my dad didn't chose chickoo or pickoo!

I'm told that I was named by one of my mother's friend.When she saw me ,she just call me with a cute nickname,and it becomes my formal name when my parents acustomed to it and thought it's really a good name. then I think ,since everyone like it ,then I'm okay to.Though I got it by a casual way.
