Missed the chance to say good-bye

My boyfriends oldest son and his family have been here with us for a few month now.They originaly came up here to see if they would like it and maybe thoght about moving up here to Texas from Alabama. It would have been great if they did....because we would have gotten to see my bf granddaughter a bit more often(she's just 1 1/2 years old and this was the first time we got to meet her in person).....but they decided that they would rather go back to Alabama.His son left yesterday via bus(since he's afraid of flying) and the daughter-in law and the baby left this morning.They had to leave here at 4am....so I had the alarm set for 3:30 so I could get a chance to say good-bye.....since I was not able to go with them to the airport(I have a job interview at 8am this morning). Okay so as it happens my bf woke up early and decided to let me stay asleep and when I woke up they were gone already. I called him on the cell right away....in tears by now....because I did not get to say good-bye to either of them. I'm really upset about this and it kind of hurt my feelings that he didn't even think about how that would make me feel.I'm going to miss all of them.....heck I already miss them....especially the little one. I'm hoping that we will be able to drive down there for Christmas this year....because I definately do not want to wait another year and a half before we get to see the baby again. Have you ever missed the chnace to say good-bye to family or friends....knowing that you would not get to see them for sometime?If you have.....then you know it makes it even harder.
