I was just answering some discussions and this question just popped up in my mind. I need to be honest i am not a real cell phone person. And sometimes if i am not in the mood i don't answer my phone. I call who ever it is later. Because i sometimes feel like i don't want to chit chat at the moment. Do you do the same thing sometimes or am i a very bad person to my friends :)

I'd like to be that way too but I can't. No offense gal but my mother drilled a heck of a conscience in me and if I don't answer then I'll feel terrible. I have to answer because it could be something very important such as my dad who's very sick in which we all don't think he'll be around for much longer. Besides that it could be something else just as important - if that's possible - like a loved one in a car accident. Sometimes I wish I could just let the darned thing ring!! LOL

Hi Catsanddogs :)
You are absolutely right. If i was in your position i would answer all my calls too. I guess i am a little lazy to answer phones. I hope your father's health problem is not very important and he feels better soon. Thanks for your answer. And hope you a great day!!!

My dad has very little time left in this world. He's very sick and has been in and out of the hospital four times in the past two weeks. Thanks for your wishes though. Bless you.

No no, u r not a bad person to ur friends, even I do that often.. Sometimes, we just require our own space and want no disturbance, its only then we don't like answering to calls.. I also call them later and apologise also for not taking their calls, and all my friends are very understanding.. Even they do it at times.. So, its not just u, there are a whole lotta people out here who practise this...

I do it all the time. Just because we have a phone doesn't mean we have to answer it. I don't like being constantly interrupted, so I do tend to ignore it sometimes also.

i do dont't want to answer my phone sometimes. Because sometimes its my supervisor likes to do that. And he did not pay me for over times. He always told me to come to the internet (where i work) and ask me to buy some food for him, with no gasoline money. its sucks.

There are days when I don't want to answer the phone, or open the door to callers. Other times, however, the phone ringing compels me to answer. I bought an answerphone so I can hear who is on the phone before I pick up so I can chose not to reply immediately

There's nothing uncommon about this. I too do this but the only difference is that i never call back. I avoid all those promotional calls which i keep getting from banks, insurance agents etc. I have all my clients numbers on my mobile and normally avoid any other calls which my mobile does not have feeded in it.

I usually answer phone calls, although it will disturb my sleep, it will disturb my dinner or what, I do response with those calls because I believe, they give effort in giving a calls, they will spend some load and money just to give a call on you wheather it is important or not. I always act profesionals whenever it is needed.

I do the same thing sometimes. I sometimes don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number in the caller ID, or if I just really don't feel like talking at the moment or if I'm busy. If I think might be something important, then I'll go ahead and answer it anyway, but otherwise I don't always.

I don't think you're a bad person for not answering your phone. Isn't that what voicemail is for? I get into moods when I don't want to talk to anyone. I just let my voicemail pick up. I also have special ringtones for everyone, so I can tell if it is important.
A couple months ago, I was in one of those antisocial moods, so I turned off my phone. My sister kept trying to call me, because my father had a serious accident and was in a coma. I felt really guilty about that. I make a point to check my voicemail or text messages now.

Hi zabawaus! I often don't answer my phone on purpose. I sometime do not feel like talking on the phone or I am busy. I screen all my phone calls before answering my calls. I love my answering machine at home it annouces the phone number that is calling. I don't think I am a bad person because I do this I think sometimes I need quiet time or I am too busy.

I do also the same as you, if I see a call from someone and I don't want to talk with him or her. I would probably just leave it like that, would not answer it. They can leave their message on my voice mail box if they really need to talk with me, or if it is really important information so probably I can call him or her back. But, mostly my reason is not because I'm in a bad mood. It just maybe because I'm in the middle of doing something which is more important than answering a phone call.

i do that too. but only to people who i dont want to talk to and they're not my friends. ^__^ i always answer calls from my friends even if im not in the mood to talk. i may miss a call but not intentional. the only calls i dont answer are from those pesky guys who are not really sincere with what they want. ^__^;;

Unfortunately I do the same thing as well. Sometimes I just don't want to talk at a particular moment when my phone rings so I'll just let the phone ring until the person hangs up.

I do exactly the same thing and I am beyond feeling guilty about it anymore. It is better that I do not answer the phone when I'm not in the mood to talk because I will either end up having an attitude with the person I am talking to or just answer the phone to tell them I'm not in the mood. I think when you have a cell phone people expect you to carry on a conversation at anytime and anywhere. That just doesn't work out for me.

Hello zabawaus, Yes sometimes I don't answer my phone on purpose and just call them back later. I don't think that you are a bad person to your friends for doing that.
I think we all do it sometimes. Each of us at times feels not in the mood and just want to be left alone be by ourselves. I think our friends will understand since it doesn't mean that were never going to answer their call forever. :-)

Its not that you're bad person or something like that.Don't feel like this.Even I used to do such things when I am get much annoyed with cell phone ringing day to night. Its obvious that in such a case we've to ignore some less important calls. We sometimes know, what the other person is going to say(sometimes our prediction is really accurate)...so we ignore that.I feel there is nothing wrong to discuss about some matters later...According to me,everyone used to do such things,no matter whether it is cellphone or some computer messenger:-).I don't feel guilty neither I critize anyone if he's doing this with me.I advice you the same.Tha's all :-) Have a nice time.
Cheers!!
