Losing Time...

Do you ever get into something on the internet and completely lose track of time? One minute it's early morning and the next it's midnight?
I'm terrible about it...especially when I play Everquest or am collecting cross stitch charts. One minute it's still dark outside and it's like 5:30am and the next minute it's 8pm and Hubby is starving. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in what I'm doing that I forget whether I've fixed him anything to eat and have even forgotten to get myself something to eat which makes me sick from the Diabetes. I've put a seperate clock in our office to help me keep track but it doesn't seem to do much good.
Have you ever gotten this bad? What types of things are you doing when you lose track of time? Any known cures??

My big timejustflewby website would be pogo.com. I used to be really bnad with playing games on there. Like you stated, one minute it's like early am and I just got out of bed and then it's going on midnight. Where in the world did the day go? Sometimes I get on in the early evening and I hear the birds out chirpind, omg! Yeah, I think we've all had those times. Some worse than others.

You might get an alarm clock or three, and set them for regular intervals to make sure you eat something. Not eating + diabetes = not good!

I do that once in a while when I'm on the computer playing games or chatting with friends. Once when I was at work there was nothing to do and I mean NOTHING. So I played Solitaire on my computer all day. Before I knew it it was the end of the day and it was time to go home! It was crazy and I've never gotten that extremely distracted or absorbed before but it's really easy to do when it comes to playing computer games.

I was so horrible with losing track of time while on the computer, while doing things that I really enjoy, that I have made out a schedule of everything I do that includes being online. When I get up in the morning I will automatically set a small alarm clock I keep near my work area to whatever time I have scheduled, and once that alarm goes off I switch to something different, or get meals ready, whatever may be next on the list of scheduled things for my day.

When I am reading a good book. I have lost hours in a book. I will relax and read and before I know it, three or four hours have passed. I get so into my books. I go into a good book when I start and then there is this process of pulling myself back out of it. It sounds weird if you are not an avid reader.

I have done the same except I only have me and my son to feed, he is 20 and I always make sure he is fed, as that is more important than anything I am doing. Also if you are diabetic it is very important for you to eat regularly. I think you should get a little alarm clock and put it by your computer and set it for meal times. coffee breaks etc and stick to it. I know as my mother in law was diabetic that it is dangerous for you not to eat, it won't just make you sick but can actually kill you, you could slip into a coma plus you will be shortening your life by neglecting your diabetis. I hope using an alarm clock helps as your health really does depend on it.

I've done this occasionally but not quite as long as you seem to have lol. I get wrapped up online talking to my friends about their daily lives or what im doing or how much i feel like strangling my kids sometimes lol.
If I know ive got a free day where i dont have to worry about kids or the hubby then its pretty easy for me to get into the online world and lose track.
I've learnt to set my alarm clock besides me to go off at two hour intervals on those days. When it goes off, I walk away from the computer, do some chores, make a cuppa or something to eat and then go back again.
Maybe that could work for you?

I lose track of time occasionally...not that it matters because there is no place I have to be.
It almost always involves the computer, either surfing or playing games or myLot, although I don't spend a lot of time here anymore.
There are times when I have to remind cave-girl about cooking up some swamprat as she has her own computer and fades off into another world at times.
There is nothing quite as nasty as raw swamprat, but a little barbecue fixes that right up...:)

When I use Photo Shop and am editing images, time just slips away so quickly. What seems like minutes, quickly turn into hours. Once interested, I can't seem to pull myself away.
I have low blood sugar and need to eat at regular intervals and sometimes I get so wrapped up that I forget to eat. Then I am dizzy sometimes for days until I get my sugar regulated again.
So, you are not alone :)

About the only things that really make me lose track of time on the internet, twoey, would be playing Mahjong or troubleshooting a problem related to my pc. I have gotten into a game of Mahjong and the next thing I know the sun will be rising, lol. The worst is when I have to spend a lot of time attempting to find the cause of a problem I am having with my computer. It's time-consuming and frustrating.

I always do this...its a bad habit I have, and sometimes i feel like I am neglecting other things, I start to feel bad. But I enjoy the internet, I enjoy mylot. With that being said I'm going to be late for class, because I just had to respond. Bye...LOL
