Time will prove whether BCCI has indeed shown courage by selecting an absolute greenhorn as the ODI captain or whether it has again played safe by selecting a ‘safe’ captain who will not go against the board. Personally I was with Yuvraj Singh though his name did not figure at all and this surprised me a lot. I believe Yuvi has the temperament, the flamboyance and the batting skills required of an ODI captain. Age and experience are also on his side and India has won many a tough match riding on his able shoulders! MSD could have been given the responsibility after a few years. He is 26 now so in another 4yrs he would be 30 which is a ripe and mature age for a captain. We would have had the next WC then and MSD would have had enough international exposure under his belt to serve India better. And I also think that the timing of the announcement was not correct. With a major international tournament like T20 going on, something as vital and sensitive as the captaincy could have been declared after the tournament was over.

i dont think this shud be done.
its high time we should realise that sachin, ganguly and others are a show of sometime now.
and our aim is the world cup right!!!
so if we now make ganguly or sachin the captain and say dhoni will learn from them then the world cup will come and then u give captaincy to dhoni now he doesnt has any time to implement his ideas and his strategies and u expect a good show from him in the world cup.
thats not fair.

Ya you are correct. Its too early for him to handle pressure of captaincy. He cant manage and he doesn have experience to undergo pressure for the tough series ahead
