I am a christian and have been brought up in church my whole life, but there are so many contrasting views about the Bible and such that confuse me and I am very curious. the bible never mentions dinosaurs...why is that? didnt they exist before Adam and Eve? How did God really come into being? He was always there....but how? How did all those animals fit onto Noah's ark that he made in such a short period of time? Where do ghosts really come from? hell? Don't the spirits of aborted or miscarried babies wait in heaven for the mother? How did man come into being? didnt cavemen exist before Adam? What does everybody think of these questions? What are your points of view? You hear so many theories on the science channel about evolution and whatnot but what do you think is the truth? I would like all views from scientologists, christians, atheists, etc. thank you

You have many question. There's no proof yet that dinosaurs existed. They were just shown in movies and might be also a creation of mind. In the Holy Bible, the first created was light then the firmanent, third day - water was divided and earth appeared and plants grew; fourth day - sun and moon; fifth day - birds and animals; sixth day - big animals and man. God commanded man to rule over all His creations. The name dinosaur does not appear in the Bible but some description of the dinosaur apply to the leviathan found in the book of Job. Animals were created before man - one day before, not so long. God took soil and molded and He breathe His spirit into the face of what He molded and that became alive. Evolution is not science but a religion against God. Evolutionists have no proof of their theory. They can never explain where the ape came from. Then how about other animals and the trees and everything? There's nothing impossible with God. To lead those animals, etc into the ark is not a problem to God. He can do everything. Nobody is in hell yet. We are not to know what we are not supposed to know. What we should know are the elements of salvation - how could we be saved.

hey luzamper, I wonder how do you people lead your life with such restricted minds. There is proof of dinsour and if you understand S of science, many fossils of dinosour is been excavated and are put into study. I think any God should be humble enough to teach to respect each living soul like animals and not to rule over them. What Kind of God would teach you to rule others! Evolution is not against God, its just tryin to understand how beautifully nature has created humans. If nobody is in hell, then why I see poor kids beggin in the street and a kid with her hands cut sleeping on the bridge and waiting for somone to give her a penny so that she can have her food.

Welcome to the world of logic, contraversy and the contradictions of the bible. Many Christians will outright refuse to believe that there ever were dinasaurs and cavemen. They truly believe that fossils and carbon dating sciences were put there by the devil to test their faith, that they aren't real. The real reason why dinosaurs and cavemen aren't in the bible is because the men that wrote the bible hundreds of years ago, didn't know they existed. Every culture all over the world has creationism myths. Many old-world religions believe man and woman were made of the earth and wind. They are just stories that people made up to explain why we're here and each one has a different one. And not all of them believe that fetuses have souls. The Hebrews believe that the reason babies cry at birth is because the soul is entering their body and it hurts. And Scientology and science are NOT the same thing. Scientology is a cult-like religion that beleives that we were exiled to earth by the Galactic Great One, Xenu for being unfit beings. We are meant to live our lives, striving for the enlightenment of the spirit, mind and body through various levels of the church to be good enough for Xenu to come back. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology

"The Bible is a book of Myths. No Bibical facts have ever been proven to exist. There is absolutely no scientific or Historical proof that Jesus ever lived." Actualy, neither of those statements are true. Now, I am not a christain, I am a pagan in fact. the bible is a collection of writings written over the course of thousands of years and compiled in the early times of a.d. by monks under the "guidence" Of the ruling church of what england (i think england anyway). It is said the original language of the old testiment is hebrew but it actualy goes back as far as sumerian, christians will argue this one. When reverse translated back to sumerian, it takes on a whole new meaning. there is a lot of science in the bibnle, the arc of the covenent, when designed to the biblical specifications, is actualy a gialnt facny looking electrolytic capacitor capable of storing large ammounts of voltage as well as recieving radio waves, neat huh?:) The various authors og the bible could only write about the world they knew at the time. There was no such thing as the north american continent, etc. One interesting note though, several cultures including some in south america, have stories of a great world wide flood, around the same time period of the one in the bible. These stories are as old in those cultures as the one in the bible and it is very unlikely anyone traaveled across the ocean at that periosd in time so....who knows.

the bible isnt fact..it is a collection of stories with moral lessons....the guys who wrote the bible were not scientists or palaeentologists..there is no reference to dinosaurs becasue no one at that time had discovered them..you must remember that the civilizations that brought about the bible wer no where near as enlightened as todays society..if you took a ten year old child and transported him back to biblical times they would think him/her to be a gifted scholar....a lot of assumptions in life are made through ignorance...dont take the bible literally..it wasnt meant to be read in that way...aslo remember the people who put together the bible had ulterior motives...

I am a Chinese girl. And you know in China, few people believe in God. I am on the edge of believing in God. I read the Bible frequetlly, but I have the same feeling as yours that not every question has its answer in the bible. But I am not upset, I both believe that there is some forthful one who watch our life and we should try our best to make our life more beautiful! So,come on!

if you want to, ignore the old testament. its good history but its quite a lot to take in. the new testament is very informative. if you need answers, Jesus would be able to help. my life has been touched by numerous true miracles. meaning it had no scientific explanation. enjoy the bible. its a good book in its entire form.

Bible - the story of Adam and Eve is only figurative
I was taught in Catholic school that the story of Adam and Eve is only figurative. God didn't literally create one man and one woman named Adam and Eve in the beginning. I guess the lesson of the story is that we were originally created by God as innocent. It is the devil (snake) that tempts us to do bad things.

babygurl I just want to tell you that I am happy you are using your mind to filter the information. Just follow your own mind rather then whatever is been asked you to follow. In my life I have rarely seen any chritsian asking such questions.

Well first I would have to say the story of cration is not history bot alagory, And also needs to be moved back to about 10- 12,000 years ago not 6,000. It was at the time when true man was coming into being. the paliolithic age was comming to an end and two species existed, Man and Cro Magon Man.The Garden of Eden was in the Sumerian vally, and is now under water. I can explain this later if you like. Anyway at this time sea levels were much lower but as the last ice age was ending water levels rose and a "great flood" did happen. No writing was in existance so stories were told about this near extention of man. This is what myth is, truth wraped in alogory. As for as Ghost, there is no evidence to this so I can not speculate where they may come from. Spirits though are not as we think of them realy. Spirits are only a progam inside all living things, but all are diferrent. So the program goes back to the programer, except infected programs are deleated.

There are Many theories about the Bible and Christianity. I was born Christian but gave it up as soon as I was old enough to realise it was a crock of Sh!t. The Bible is a book of Myths. No Bibical facts have ever been proven to exist. There is absolutely no scientific or Historical proof that Jesus ever lived. According to the bible the earth is 5000 years old. The dinosaur age existed over 1 million years ago and there are bones to prove it. There are many books on these topics available at your local Library, or book store. Why not do some research and find out for yourself?

I would have to say..."and there you have it folks, many of the holes in christian religion spoken plainly". To you, babygurl, I would have to say - this is why so many people are steering away from christianity now, because there is no logical way to explain so many things. But without all of the things you mentioned, there are scores of "holes" within the bible's teachings, there is more corruption within the ranks of the church than out on the street and I was always taught not to believe everything I read or saw on television or that everyone said, I was taught to learn for myself the truth. I suggest that you do the same, go exploring and find your own truths, don't allow your upbringing or religion to curb your learning freedoms.

I'm not a christian. I'm a buddhist. I just want to share with some of the view and teaching from the buddha. It is interesting that the buddha's expalanation of the origin of the universe corresponds very closely to the scientific view. In the Aganna Sutta, the Budhha decribed the universe being destroyed and then revolving into it's present from over a period of countless million of years. The first life formed on the surface of the water again, over countless million of years, evolved from simple into complex organisms. All these processes were, he said, without beginning or end, and are set in motion by natural causes.
