blah blah...I am having a difficult time dating in NYC. My standards are not that high - the guy has to live on his own (not with his mom after age 35), be working and making a bit more than me, sane, nice and decent looking. However, example - last guy I dated was ok looking. He was smart, however he : A. Lived with his mom (this was after a breakup but, still) B. Came over my place and made himself a bit too comfy C. On the third date, he asked me if I minded paying! I was like, no, and that was the end of him. Help!! Can anyone share their dating troubles? Thanks :)

WOW!!
i was 18 when i left NY ( island) but still!
it was horrible then - i cant imagine how horrible it is now out there!! :(
I WISH i were still there i could be ur match maker! lol
i knew alot of single men (friends) lost touch with some of course after getting married lol
but may i make a suggestion .. or two?
well im going to anyway lol -----
i found that going to friends parties/bar b ques ect NO MATTER HOW stupid silly ect - is ur best chance to meet someone REAL! -
also, *word of mouth* let ur friends U TRUST that ur *looking* they will be ur *match makers* check the guy out way more than u ever thought! especially if u have a very *out going* friend but not TOO FRIENDLY if u know what i mean? :( lol
AND please give the *nerdy* looking guy atleast the time of day when he chats u up at a bar, club etc.. u never know!!!
they are all NERVOUSE! i mean look at use! we have SEEABLE *objects* - for lack of a better word- that makes them ALL stupid!! ( sorry guys but its true!.. DONT LIE) lol lol
my sis met a guy that way - she was getting a drink at the bar and this *nerdy* as she put it, chatted her up with a line she laughed at - he relaxed a bit she said she could see his shoulders COme way DOWN! :) lol he tells her hes single, but living at home - she starts to pull away - he says i dont mean to be forward or rude but i think ur pretty and my saying i live at home isnt a bad thing! i have a business im starting and needed a place to work from! shes said yeah? prove it!! he shows her his *card* he OWNS several homes!! hes a real estate *flipper*
now not to say all that live home are that honest or even that ambitouse! but... giving him a chat wont hurt!
finding out EVERYTHING before hand - and what i did as i got older was NEVER invite them to my place - i met in public places till i LIKED THEM!! i mean really felt comfy with them then and ONLY then did i invite them to pick me up at home, even then it was NOT to *stay in*!! that took a bit as well - hey U HAVE TO BE SURE AND PICKY!!
u OWE urself that much! :)XX
i hope some of this helps :)
xx

thank u
i dont know why either
im thinking maybe some men just think they can be someone they just arent and well when it comes time to *PROVE* it they cant - of course - sadly
OR they short change themselves - its a sad thing really - and not only men do this - wemon tend to short change themselves when they really get into who they are - lets face it if u say ur sexy or u think ur pretty - some take as concet! ( sp?)
ur stuck up or a a snob - so... its easier to be *less*
and that keeps some from looking! :(
*catch 22*
Always :(
just take ur time it will happen when its suppose to :)
Good luck XX

Good for you! You are a woman who has her head screwed on properly! There are too many mommas boys still living at home with momma, who would love to livein with a cute, sexy girl for free, and get sexed for free too. Keep looking and you will find a desent man who has a Home and will share it with you.
